The Mill: In this new film, Lil Rel Howery stars as a businessman who wakes up to find himself in an open-air prison housed in an old grist mill. I think it’s a metaphor. Premiere. Hulu

Appendage: A young fashion designer who suffers from insecurities and self-doubt suddenly suddenly suffers from a terrible growth. I think it’s a metaphor. Premiere.  Hulu


Found: A public relations specialist makes it her mission to keep attention on the missing people that the authorities can’t or won’t find. Series premiere. 9 p.m., NBC

FBI: True: From the creators of FBI, comes this (originally Canadian) series in which actual FBI agents discuss their investigations. Series premiere. 8 p.m., CBS

Star Wars: Ahsoka: Series finale. Disney+

Only Murders in the Building: The killer (or killers!) exposed. Season finale. Hulu

Make Me Scream: Tempestt Bledsoe and Darryl M. Bell host this competitive special where teams of celebrities face scares while trying to not scream. Premiere. Prime Video


Quantum Leap: Ben finds himself in 1978 on a top-secret military flight transporting mysterious cargo. Season premiere. 7 p.m., NBC

Sullivan’s Crossing: A neurosurgeon returns to her childhood home in Nova Scotia after her life is turned upside down in Boston. 7 p.m., The CW

Magnum P.I.: Magnum and Higgins take on a dangerous client. Season premiere. 8 p.m., NBC

The Spencer Sisters: Lea Thompson stars as a mystery writer who begins investigating cases with her daughter who people mistake for her daughter. Series premiere. 8 p.m., The CW

Surrealestate: This fun little show was canceled a while back, only to rise from the dead for another chance. Nick Roman and his team investigate and fix haunted houses that could scare potential buyers away. Season premiere.  9 p.m., Syfy

Chucky: The very bad doll is back. Season premiere. 8 p.m., Syfy and USA

Haunted Mansion: This film based on the classic Disney ride was released in the theaters in July, which puzzled many — why release a fun horror movie in the middle of summer? Looks like we have our answer: so they can stream it in October. Premiere.  Disney+

Beckham: This docuseries follows the meteoric rise of the very handsome footballer. Premiere. Netflix

Ghost Adventures: Devil’s Island: Zak and his dumb team investigate Angel Island in San Francisco Bay which they have renamed “Devil’s Island” here because they are very clever.  8 p.m., Discovery and Max


Our Flag Means Death: The delightful pirate adventure is back for a second season. Season premiere. Max

Totally Killer: Kiernan Shipka stars in this horror comedy as a teen who accidentally travels back to 1987 to try to stop a serial killer. Premiere. Prime Video

Desperately Seeking Soulmate: Escaping Twin Flames Universe: This docuseries explores the Twin Flames “online community” (cult), and the lengths that people will go to find their “twin flame.” Series premiere. Paramount+

Austin City Limits Music Festival: Two live feeds of the music festival will be available to Hulu subscribers throughout the weekend. Hulu

Ballerina: Ana de Armas stars as a young female assassin looking for revenge against the people who killed her family in this new film set in the John Wick universe. Premiere. Netflix

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines: In this Pet Sematary prequel, a young Jud Crandell begins to suspect something is not quite right with his childhood friend Timmy, ultimately revealing a terrible evil that has plagued the town for centuries. Premiere. Paramount+


Harvey: The 1950’s Jimmy Stewart classic is one of my all-time favorite movies. 7 p.m., TCM

Arsenic and Old Lace: And apparently, TCM is having a Therese’s favorites marathon on this night because I happen to adore this dark little Cary Grant romp as well. 9 p.m., TCM

3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost: A ghost gets too involved in a real estate agent’s love life. She needs to call the team from Surrealestate. Premiere.  7 p.m., Hallmark


Last Stop: Larrimah: This documentary series explores the disappearance and possible murder of a man in a town of only ten people in the Australian Outback. Series premiere.  8 p.m., HBO

The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial: Kiefer Sutherland and Lance Riddick (in one of his final roles) star in this courtroom drama. Premiere. 8 p.m., Showtime

The Circus: Oh boy, it’s politics season again. Season premiere. 6 p.m., Showtime
