Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
Another thing I learned today: every Succession season finale title has come from the John Berryman poem, “Dream Song 29.” The series finale will be titled, “With Open Eyes.” Make of that what you will.
CBS is expected to be the most-watched broadcast network for the 2022-2023 season. It marks CBS’ 15th consecutive season at the top.
NBC is already making plans to sell advertising for Saturday Night Live‘s 50th season, which begins in 2024.
Night Court featured a mini-reunion last night (sadly with one of the only two other living original cast members — Richard Moll is still alive).
Apparently, King Charles and Queen Camilla are on a singing competition tour.
There has been a controversy raging over a Netflix docudrama called African Queens which begins streaming today because the series dared to cast Cleopatra as Black. Egyptians, who are particularly pissed, have announced they will be making their own big-budget Cleopatra documentary in response. I mean … ok.
Oh, great: Tucker Carlson is threatening to bring his show to Twitter. One more reason to get off the hellsite, in case the fact that its owner is promoting false flag conspiracies about the mass shooting that took place in my state this week isn’t enough reason.
Meanwhile, Elon Musk is saying that no deals have been signed, so who even knows. Also, it might not be a great idea to add a man who drives off advertisters to a platform that is struggling to keep advertisers. Just a thought.
And this has nothing to do with television, but I can’t NOT mention that George Santos was indicted by the Department of Justice for wire fraud, money laundering, theft of public funds and making false statements to the House of Representatives. Lololol.
Writers’ Strike Update:
Sinking Spring has halted production.
