Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

YouTube just signed a $2 billion deal with the NFL for the NFL Sunday Ticket package. Pricing details have not yet been announced.

Here’s an overly long piece about why so many more Americans are watching Premier League soccer these days (including my completely obsessed husband), and the short answer is: streaming services.

BREAKING NEWS: Daredevil will not be as gory and violent on Disney+ as it was on Netflix. Try to contain your shock.

Sooooo … Hallmark put out two movies, both called Sister Swap, but one is Sister Swap: Christmas in the City, and the other is Sister Swap: Hometown Holiday. In both movies, the sisters (who are played by real-life sisters) swap places, from/to the big city/small town. Both films were released in 2021, feature the exact same cast, and they are not sequels. They were written and directed by the same people. However, and here’s where it’s weird, while they are two versions of the exact same story, they aren’t the same movie from different perspectives, they are just two different movies of the exact same story.

It broke Community creator Dan Harmon’s brain as he explained in multiple Instagram posts:

Buzzfeed investigated further, if you need to know more.

The showrunner of The Witcher promises a “heroic sendoff” for Henry Cavill, which sounded to me like they were going to kill off Geralt and that Liam Hemsworth would play a … different Witcher? BUT NOPE, Hemsworth will still be Geralt, with a “new mission in mind” and he will  be “slightly different.” Dude, I don’t know.

Not about television, BUT, now you can sue movie studios for false advertising if they put out deceptive trailers, and you have Ana de Armas to thank.

Congratulations to Jay Mohr and Jeanie Buss, but especially to Jay Mohr who somehow managed to land the owner of The Lakers.

Merry Christmas from the Chucky Yule Log.

  1. I don’t pay for Peacock, but that sure feels like the right streaming service for a movie about Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, not to mention other characters called “Rooster” and “Phoenix.” But my Paramount Plus acts like THEY’RE showing Top Gun: Maverick. I’m perplexed. Now I feel like I should check Prime Video, and then maybe Pulu and Petflix. Maybe even Poopla.
