Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
SO AFTER BEING TOLD THAT WE LOST HENRY CAVILL ON THE WITCHER BECAUSE HE HAD TO RETURN TO SUPERMAN, WE NOW LEARN THE DCU IS WRITING A NEW SUPERMAN MOVIE THAT WILL FEATURE A YOUNGER SUPERMAN AND CAVILL WILL NOT BE INVOLVED?
1. HOW DARE YOU. 2. HOW DARE YOU DO THAT TO HENRY CAVILL, JAMES GUNN. 3. HOW DARE YOU.
I am so angry right now.
So Henry Cavill is leaving the Witcher and we’re not getting him back as Superman either? pic.twitter.com/Oo0ikL8A5N
— Ashley K. (@AshleyKSmalls) December 15, 2022
Henry Cavill loved The Witcher but he clearly wanted the studio to respect the book material and it must have disappointed him to see them mock it. He ended up eventually leaving it behind for Superman only for DC to drop him again within 2 months.

Henry Cavill turning up to the Witcher set in full costume, pretending nothing happened, like George in that episode of Seinfeld. "What scene we doing today, then?"

SO ANGRY.
And while I’m angry, let’s discuss the mess over at HBO Max. First, the terrifying news: Warner Bros. Discovery just announced that not only is the bloodletting not done yet, but they also anticipate cutting $1 billion MORE in content than they had previously announced by 2024. None of your shows are safe (except maybe House of the Dragon and The White Lotus at this point) and you should binge whatever you haven’t already on HBO Max while you still can.
In addition to the shows that I mentioned the other day that are being pulled from HBO Max (Westworld, Minx, Gordita Chronicles, Made For Love, The Nevers), they’ve added a few more, including: Raised By Wolves, Head of the Class and The Time Traveler’s Wife, The Garcias, FBoy Island, Legendary and Finding Magic Mike.
Now, here is where it is interesting. While all of these shows will be soon pulled from HBO Max, it sounds like the plan is for Warner Bros. Discovery to license some titles to FAST channels. A FAST channel is a free ad-supported tier, so think Freevee and Pluto TV. Warner Bros. Discovery is planning on developing their own FAST channel down the road, but in the meantime, they want to make some money off these properties by licensing them out to other FAST channels. So, while the titles might be gone from HBO Max, they won’t have completely disappeared from the ether altogether — you’re likely to be able to watch some of them, just with ads.
But not all of the titles above will find a new home on FAST channels. Warner Bros. Discovery is reverting the rights of some of the shows above back to the producers and studios that made them, allowing them to possibly sell them to other streamers. Those shows include: Gordita Chronicles, Love Life, Made For Love, The Garcias, and Minx, which explains why Jake Johnson said they were going to finish filming the second season of Minx: because it sounds like Lionsgate might be looking for a new streaming home for it. (PEACOCK: I’M LOOKING AT YOU. There are some promising tie-ins between “Peacock” and Minx. I’m just saying.)
As for Westworld and The Nevers, expect them to show up on Warner Bros. Discovery’s upcoming FAST channel. As IndieWir explains, Westworld is an older property that isn’t necessarily going to bring new eyes to an HBO Max, but it would be a valuable anchor title on a FAST channel. This is also why we might see The Sopranos also end up on Warner Bros. Discovery’s FAST channel in the future.
It should also be noted that expectations are that Warner Bros. Discovery’s FAST channel will be a standalone offering, rather than an ad-supported tier on the upcoming HBO Max/Discovery+ combo, so as to prevent confusion for the consumer. As someone who hates ad-supported anything — I subscribe to the streamers precisely to avoid ads, thankyouverymuch — this isn’t a great development for me. But, it’s not all about me, and FAST channels make sense, especially outside the U.S. where many people can’t afford expensive streaming subscriptions.
And in conclusion, WON’T SOMEONE GIVE MINX AND FBOY ISLAND A GOOD HOME, PLEASE?
The second installment of Harry & Meghan arrived on Netflix today. If you don’t feel like watching, here are some major takeaways. I, personally, will be watching, as I agree 100% with Irvine Welsh here:
I confess that I watched a bit of this. It managed to be both as boring as fuck yet by far the most interesting thing I’ve ever seen on the issue of the royal family. https://t.co/HxSbioYpGU
— Irvine Welsh (@IrvineWelsh) December 15, 2022
Meghan, a longtime fan of the singer, expresses some dismay. “I still can’t believe she knows who I am.” Then Meghan paraphrases the text out loud. “She said she wants me to feel safe and protected. She admires my bravery and vulnerability and thinks I was selected to break generational curses that need to be healed.”
Netflix isn’t calling the second season of The Sandman “season two” because they are “considering batching approaches” whatever the hell that means?
Crystal Kung Minkoff claims she’s the only Beverly Hills Housewife who has never requested an edit. And I guess I believe that, more on the end that all the other Housewives have definitely asked for edits.
HOUSTON, REPRESENT. (Uh … that’s a spoiler for Survivor, by the by.)
Troll has become the most popular non-English film on Netflix. And now you know.
Beginning next year, Peacock will be the exclusive streaming service on your JetBlue flights. (Pro tip from a frequent flyer: Just download some Netflix before you get on the plane. You can watch them while in airplane mode.)
This is a nice bit of holiday cheer:
Al Roker is home from the hospital and on the road to recovery — but he’s not quite ready to return to Studio 1A yet.

So, the entire TODAY family gathered on Al's doorstep to surprise him with some holiday cheer to help him feel merry and bright! 🌟 https://t.co/RxyjS8BpLr pic.twitter.com/dw8MJjfZBJ
Finally, my early holiday gift is this: yesterday, the Former President of Cold Leftover French Fries threatened us with a MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT. Clearly stinging from recent polls that show Ron DeSantis overtaking him in who Republicans want to be their nominee, I think most of us were apprehensive as to what Former President Mussolini-Wannabe had up his sleeve.
Turns out, the MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT is that he’s selling embarrassingly bad $99 NFTs of himself:
Oh my goodness Trump’s “major announcement” is even more pathetic than I anticipated pic.twitter.com/5IzjklP7Fo
— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) December 15, 2022
Y’all, look at these. I haven’t stopped laughing all morning:
You might think the Trump NFTs are a scam. But if you buy 45 pics of an NFT like Shotgun Trump or Wall Street Trump — so, roughly $4500 worth — you get a ticket for a "Gala Dinner with Trump" pic.twitter.com/cDqlekG87Y

i am going to acquire this Donald Trump NFT because it is the everyday looking version of him that we all know and love pic.twitter.com/zVnAS3H6xk

More tributes to Twitch have come in from all corners:
I was heartbroken to learn about the passing of Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who I got to know over the years through my Let’s Move! initiative and visits to The Ellen Show. My heart goes out to his wife, Allison, and his three children during this difficult time. pic.twitter.com/C5AEmlfOrj

It’s heartbreaking to hear that someone who brought so much joy to a room, was hurting so much behind closed doors. I’ve known Twitch for over 20 years through the dance community – he always lit everything up. You just never know what someone is really going through.
