There was a lot of complaining from some corners of the right that the January 6th Committee had hired a TV producer to help them shape a compelling narrative for American audiences. As far as I’m concerned, give that producer an Emmy and a bonus, because damn, he put on a good show.
For yesterday’s primetime hearing, between the outtakes of a sullen Former President Sore Loser refusing to say that the election is over in a speech given on January 7th …
"I don't want to say the election is over," Trump says in outtakes from his speech on Jan. 7. "I just want to say Congress has certified the results." Ivanka Trump, who is not seen but heard in the background, helps him make revisions in real time. pic.twitter.com/cCfnyWKgLo

to the revelation that Secret Service members protecting Former Vice President Mike Pence were calling their families because they weren’t sure they were going to survive all the while the Former Traitor-in-Chief did nothing …
As Trump declined to call for help, Vice President Mike Pence was hiding in the Capitol, just feet away from rioters.
His Secret Service agents "started to fear for their own lives" at the Capitol and called family members in case they didn’t survive. pic.twitter.com/904hhkzx7M

… last night’s hearings made for riveting, persuasive, and important television. Let’s hope Merrick Garland and the Department of Justice were watching, too.
Oh, and this wasn’t a series finale for the hearings, merely a season finale. There will be more hearings in September.
OAN is being dropped by Verizon, which means that the far-right looney network wil only be available on one small Alaskan cable provider. What a shame.
Please do not get into a gun fight near the set of Justified: City Primeval, thanks.
