It’s a Friday! And a long weekend!

Go enjoy the pool!

It is a big day here at Foolish HQ: We have news about Damon Lindelof’s next series: It’s a drama called Mrs. Davis, and it will stream on Peacock. According to Deadline, Mrs. Davis is “an exploration of faith versus technology — an epic battle of biblical and binary proportions” with a “dark satirical edge.” It “focuses on a world where almost all decisions are made via algorithm. Containing secrets within secrets, each season will center on a particular mystery or dilemma that will be resolved by the end of the cycle.” Specific plot details are being closely guarded.

Lindelof will executive produce the series and co-write it with Young Sheldon and The Big Bang Theory writer and producer Tara Hernandez, who will also serve as the showrunner.

Lindelof said: “Tara Hernandez is an astonishingly original talent. Talking about Mrs. Davis with her was one of the few things that kept me sane through the pandemic. … I can’t wait for the world to be introduced to both of them.”

I know that this is something that typically would go under “In Development,” but any Damon Lindelof TV production is going to receive special treatment around here. I have to admit, I’m a little skeptical of the person in charge being someone whose only experience is within The Big Bang Theory universe. But as my sister correctly pointed out to me, Lindelof got his start on Nash Bridges and Crossing Jordan before going on to showrun three of my all-time favorite shows, so maybe I shouldn’t be so judgy and give Ms. Hernandez a chance. Also, this sounds like a VERY Lindelofian show, so yes, of course I’m excited about it.

Rugrats has made it official: Betty is an openly gay woman.

The cicadas are now trying to eat CNN reporters.

Let them fight.

This isn’t exactly a TV story, but It’sMyBlogIDoWhatIWant. So there’s this house I drive by at least 3 or 4 times a month that my family has always called “The Death Star” because it’s in the middle of a well-heeled neighborhood filled with traditional 20th-century-style homes and it looks like this:

Turns out, the owner of the house is a plastic surgeon who designed it himself BASED ON DARTH VADER’S MASK. So, yeah, we were not far off! Anyway, it’s up for sale for the first time since it was built in the 90s, and for $4.3 million it could be yours. And in a twist that I simply love more than I have words for, one potential buyer? 50 Cent who recently announced he had moved to Houston. PLEASE BUY IT, FIDDY.

  1. I’m sorry to hear that Debris was cancelled, if for no other reason than having an actor in it named Scroobius Pip.
