I’m keeping this post brief, babies, because it has been a busy, exhausting day and it’s already 5:30 and WHY ISN’T THIS POST UP YET.
So, in case you were busy like, doing your job or going to school or some other lame thing, here’s the video chat Andrew, Wei and I had at the Chronicle today about last night’s episode of Game of Thrones. We’re still working on the pacing of this thing — most comments came at the end and we shut the chat down before I could find them and answer them. So sorry if we didn’t get to yours!
SO THE LESSON, CHILDREN, IS THIS: If you have questions about next week’s episode, think about them Monday morning and at 11:45 Houston time, be ready to dump them into the comments when we go live, and I will make sure we talk about them.
A few other bits about last night’s episode:
Last night was the most-tweeted episode in television history. Obviously. I think that record will only be challenged by the finale itself.
There was yet ANOTHER leak before the episode aired, this time of photos. BUT STILL. Y’ALL FOOLS NEED TO CUT IT OUT WITH THIS.
Be glad you weren’t trying to watch last night’s episode on HBO Go in Latin America. Let me tell you what would make me go all Arya-stabby.
Chris Stapleton had a brief-blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo as a wildling turned wight.
Here’s Emilia Clark dressed as Jon Snow in Times Square just because.
Disney could possibly buy Comcast’s 30% share in Hulu. After the Fox acquisition, it already owns 60%.
Meanwhile, Amazon is expected to spend $7 billion on entertainment this year. Which is a lot! But Netflix is going to spend $15 billion. So.
And as for AppleTV+, it’s sounding … eh.
Get better soon, Peabo Bryson!
