L.A. to Vegas: Dylan McDermott (I literally typed Dermot Mulroney first) stars in this new sitcom about an airline that flies back and forth between L.A. and Las Vegas, per the title. Series premiere.  8 p.m., Fox

Tesla’s Death Ray: A Murder Declassified: This is just a very cool title for a TV show. 9 p.m., Discovery

Mustang Island: Shameless plug: An old friend of mine co-stars in this little indie film shot in Texas. You should watch it. Netflix


The X-Files: Mulder and Scully and a bunch of bad guys are all looking for Mulder and Scully’s kid. Season premiere. 7 p.m., Fox

grown-ish: A Different World for the 2000s. Series premiere. 7 p.m., Freeform

9-1-1: Ryan Murphy attempts a procedural. Series premiere. 8 p.m., Fox


The Good Place: OH THANK GOODNESS IT’S BACK. 7:30 p.m., NBC

The Four: Fox had to replace American Idol with something and this is what they came up with. Series premiere. 7 p.m., Fox

Project Runway All Stars: Rookies versus veterans, which pretty much describes every season? Season premiere. 8 p.m., Lifetime


Before I Wake: A child’s dreams become manifest in this film from the director of Ouija: Origin of Evil and OcculusNetflix

Rotten: A six-part exposé of the food industry and how it’s killing local farms, feeding us trash and robbing us blind. Netflix

Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee: The Jerry Seinfeld series moves to Netflix as part of his overall deal with the streaming service. Netflix


A Tale of Two Coreys: Poor Coreys. 7 p.m., Lifetime

Falling Water: The weird dream series that I wanted to like but could never get into is back for a second season. Season premiere. 9 p.m., USA

Ten Days in the Valley: Say goodbye to this well-made mystery because it is not coming back. Season (series) finale. 9 p.m., ABC


The 75th Annual Golden Globes: Seth Meyers is hosting this year which is the only reason I might watch. 7 p.m., NBC

The Chi: Lena Waithe’s much anticipated new coming-of-age drama is here. Series premiere. 9 p.m., Showtime

Star Trek: Discovery: Mid-season premiere. CBS All Access
