Wednesday nights this fall look pretty similar to Wednesday nights of this past season. ABC isn’t moving anything around: if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it, right? Elsewhere, Fox is pairing Empire and Star for a Lee Daniels block, and NBC just chugs along with its hour-long procedurals.
The only new shows added to the schedule are Dynasty and Seal Team, and I’ll give you three guesses as to which of those two I’ll actually be tuning in to.
It does not get any trashier or soapier than this Dynasty reboot and I am HERE FOR IT. Give me all the cat fights and hair pulling and bridal pantsuits. GIMME.
As for Seal Team, look, you know what this is: it’s another crime-of-the-week police procedural, and I’m not mad at it. It’s what CBS does, and as long as CBS keeps making totally predictable, completely unoriginal programming, I don’t have to bother watching CBS.
Here’s how Wednesday nights will shape up this fall. New series are highlighted in pink:
|ABC||The Goldbergs||Speechless||Modern Family||American Housewife||Designated Survivor|
|CBS||Survivor||Seal Team||Criminal Minds|
|NBC||The Blacklist||Law & Order: SVU||Chicago P.D.|
Dynasty (The CW)
Seal Team (CBS)
(I actually ranked all of the trailers and put them into a meaningless, contextless list over on Chron.com if you’re interested, but since I hate lists, I’m not going go out of my way to encourage you to check it out.)
