The Real Housewives franchise has finally made its way to Texas. On Monday, April 11th, The Real Housewives of Dallas will say howdy to viewers, which as I’ve stated before is both a blessing and a curse for Houstonians. On the one hand, Houston, the nation’s fourth largest city and one of the wealthiest in the country, is once again being snubbed in favor of our smaller, less interesting sister. On the other, Dallas is the Texas city that will become synonymous with plasticine women arguing in ballgowns and throwing wine at each other over inconsequential nonsense, not Houston.
The Real Housewives of Dallas cast includes Brandi Redmond, a former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader (because OF COURSE there is a former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader); Cary Deuber, a transplant from Connecticut who is married to a plastic surgeon; LeeAnn Locken, a former beauty queen; Stephanie Hollman, the blonde; and Tiffany Hendra, a former model/actress.
Meet the cast in this video in which they helpfully explain the differences between Houston and Dallas. Apparently Houston has 1. worse fashion 2. more women and 3. bad hair, which is why none of the cast would ever dream of living here. Their loss.
Some facts about Houston that they’ve left out: we’re bigger, we’re richer, we’re more diverse, we have a better art, food and music scene, and we’re more charitable. But I suppose the ladies don’t know any of that since some of them admit to never even having visited Houston. Bless their hearts.
And speaking of blessing their hearts, in two other videos, the cast explain how Dallas women throw shade, and the biggest misconceptions about Dallas. Finally, here is the trailer for the season. It’s going to be a long one.
