But this one takes place days after Hurricane Katrina washed New Orleans away. Our mysterious Mr. Strand chats with a well-dressed gentleman in a Baton Rouge bar about the devastation, revealing that he owned property on St. Claude Avenue that was destroyed, and has left him bankrupt. ‘Fear the Walking Dead’: Lost … and found

Before we get started, if you haven’t already watched Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462, take 15 minutes and watch it now. Zombies + planes = NIGHTMARE FUEL.

Caught up? Great. So the chick who seemed to know AN AWFUL LOT about how all this zombie stuff works — what’s up with that anyway? — her name is Alex, and she, and her knitting buddy Jake, manage to survive the plane crash. But Jake’s not unscathed, and in fact has suffered what appear to be some pretty terrible face burns. Alex manages to haul Jake to a life raft where they are pulled to safety by three guys, hooray! But then one of the guys notices that one of the other guys has been bit and without hesitation bops him in the head with an oar, knocking him into the sea, where he will become a water zombie. Hey, still angry about how The Walking Dead cheated us out of a proper season finale? YEAH, ME TOO. I even considered not watching, much less recapping the second season of Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead‘s lesser sibling series out of protest. And yet, here we are, looking down the first half of what will undoubtedly be an infuriating and disappointing season if this first episode is any indication.
