God bless the Internet.
@count_razzoo Show me the teefs!
Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
A couple from season 37 of The Amazing Race is suing the producers and Paramount for a bad edit. They claim the show “falsely portrayed Jonathan Towns, a private individual with no antecedent public profile, as a morally depraved, brutal and abusive spouse,” and they want $8 million, a re-edit, and a public apology. I mean, the editing process for reality shows is notoriously sketchy, but the bottom line is if you don’t act like an asshole, there’s not a whole lot the editors will have to work with to make you look like an asshole. Good luck with this!
The Lanterns trailer debuted on Wednesday and the nerds are already nerd-raging.
Vulture outlines why David Ellison’s promise to let HBO keep doing HBO things is not as simple as it sounds. If they lose Casey Bloys, the head of HBO, it’s all over.
In an interview with CNBC, David Ellison was asked about CNN’s independence under Paramount:
“[There] is certainly a perception and/or a fear perhaps that once you take control of CNN, and given the changes you’ve made at CBS [News], that you will be more beholden to the Trump administration.” He then asked the Paramount Skydance CEO, “Can you address that — that potential fear, at least on the part of many?”
Ellison responded, “So, look, I’ve said this since the beginning, which is, you know, for — when it really comes to — editorial independence will absolutely be maintained. It’s maintained at CBS. It’ll be maintained at CNN. And, really, who we want to talk to is the 70% of Americans and really around the world that identify as center-left, as center-right. And we want to be in the truth business. We want to be in the trust business. And that’s not going to change.”
CNN right now:

Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette is Hulu’s biggest miniseries ever.
But you know who’s not a fan of the show? Besides Jack Schlossberger? That’d be Daryl Hannah, who wrote a whole New York Times editorial about how the series distorted her into an antagonist:
The character “Daryl Hannah” portrayed in the series is not even a remotely accurate representation of my life, my conduct or my relationship with John. The actions and behaviors attributed to me are untrue. I have never used cocaine in my life or hosted cocaine-fueled parties. I have never pressured anyone into marriage. I have never desecrated any family heirloom or intruded upon anyone’s private memorial. I have never planted any story in the press. I never compared Jacqueline Onassis’ death to a dog’s. It’s appalling to me that I even have to defend myself against a television show. These are not creative embellishments of personality. They are assertions about conduct — and they are false.
When so many people watch a dramatization that uses a real name, real-life consequences follow. In the weeks since the series aired, I have received many hostile and even threatening messages from viewers who seem to believe the portrayal is factual. When entertainment borrows a real person’s name, it can permanently impact her reputation.
HEY. DON’T SEND DARYL HANNAH DEATH THREATS, YOU WEIRDOS.

Ben Affleck apparently created some sort of AI start-up? And Netflix bought it? I don’t know what is going on anymore, I gotta be honest.
Heads up to any ME’s office: If you have a staffing shortage, give Nicole Kidman a call.
Alien: Earth season two will begin filming in May, presumably sometime after show creator Noah Hawley delivers my son’s college commencement address (!!!!).
Heated Rivalry won Best New Series at The GLAAD Media Awards, but wasn’t even nominated in the Drama category? Huh.
Warner Bros. was PISSED at the BBC for the BAFTAs mess.
My algorithm insists that this is a story people care about and that I should include it here. OK.
I’m not a huge Jimmy Fallon fan, but this is genuinely lovely.
“Before we find out any more information about what happened, I just want to say with absolute certainty she is a domestic terrorist who deserves to go to Gitmo. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry, I’m being told that is not true. But you know what? I acted on the information we had at the time.” — Stephen Colbert
