Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

The fans are big mad at the seventh episode of season five of Stranger Things, and are review bombing the shit out of it. Mild spoilers: The lazy take is that fans are mad that it’s “gone woke;” the more nuanced take is that they don’t like the writing in THAT scene, and felt it was awkwardly timed.

And no, there is no secret cut of Stranger Things floating around in the Upside Down. This is the only Stranger Things you’re gonna get. Check out the trailer for the finale below.

The time Maya Rudolph almost played Barack Obama on SNL.

Hey, more Chevy Chase crap. So … about the reason he left Community. The story is, Chase was irritated that his character was becoming more and more racist, and frustrated at a black face story, he fumed that soon the writers would have him calling Shirley the N-word … except Chase didn’t say “N-word.” This, understandably, caused Yvette Nicole Brown to storm out of the room. When she demanded he apologize, he refused, and instead insisted that Richard Pryor allowed him to say the word. Later, when the story leaked to the press, he had a full meltdown declaring that his career was over, and he never came back to the show.

And it’s hard, you know? Because on the one hand, he was using the word to emphasize that he didn’t like the racist direction his character was going, which is a fair complaint. But on the other hand, he’s an entitled, oblivious piece of shit who absolutely could have used “N-word” instead of the actual word itself to make the same point, and no one would still be talking about this incident 13 years later.

As for Yvette Nicole Brown, she wants to be left out of it.

It better not rain on my parade.

Look! More Stumble love!

I have a list of much much much darker things that I would do, given the opportunity. And I bet privately Stephen Colbert does, too.

I mean, he’s already pondering removing Kennedy’s name from the Kennedy MEMORIAL Center. I’m going to have an aneurysm.

In response to this unbelievable insult, artists are canceling their performances at the Kennedy Center. Jazz great Chuck Redd canceled his Christmas Eve performance, and in response, Kennedy Center president Richard Grenell sent a letter threatening to sue Redd for $1 million. This has not prevented other artists from pulling out of performances, however: The Cookers, a jazz ensemble, canceled their New Year’s Eve performance; Kristy Lee has canceled her January performance; and Doug Varone and Dancers have canceled their April shows. They won’t be the last.

George Clooney and Amal Clooney now have French citizenship.
