Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

The Emmy nominations came out this morning, and if I can get my stuff together, I’ll have a longer post about all that later. In the meantime, here’s a decent list of shows that were overlooked by the Emmys. (I’m not so sure Bates Motel was deserving, but the rest are valid complaints.)

Oh. Tracy Ifeachor’s departure from The Pitt just became a lot messier. 

Last night, Stephen Colbert addressed his boss paying off President Mobster, and those rumors that Skydance might fire him once they take control of CBS.

“Now, unlike the payoffs from ABC and Twitter, Paramount’s settlement did not include an apology. That’s good. Instead, the corporation released a statement where they said, ‘You may take our money, but you will never take our dignity. You may, however, purchase our dignity for the low, low price of $16 million. We need the cash.’

“Now, I believe this kind of complicated financial settlement with a sitting government official has a technical name in legal circles: It’s big fat bribe, because this all comes as Paramount’s owners are trying to get the Trump administration to approve the sale of our network to a new owner, Skydance.”

Turns out bringing Jon Stewart back to The Daily Show was a good idea. Go figure.

In the wake of Elmo’s Twitter account being hacked, it’s a good time to remind Sesame Workshop that they don’t need to be on Twitter AT ALL, especially with Grok going full Nazi and everything.

And I say that in frustration that other accounts won’t abandon Twitter, like the social media team for The Boys, because I don’t want to  include Twitter posts and give that fascist eyeballs; but if I don’t, I can’t share moments of pure genius like this:

Kanye West has been accused of sexual battery and sex trafficking by his former assistant Lauren Pisciotta.

Oval Office actor Derek Dixon has spoken out about why he filed a $260 lawsuit against Tyler Perry: “Everyone deserves to go to work and do their job without their boss trying to have sex with them,” Dixon says. “My goal is to help ensure that the next generation of actors and creatives don’t have to choose between their dreams and their dignity.”

The BBC has dropped MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace after an investigation validated 45 instances of abusive behavior, finding that he was a threat to others even after receiving training in 2019. However, they are stuck with a bunch of unaired MasterChef episodes with Wallace in them, and are trying to figure out what to do with them.

Billy Bush claims he reported the “grab ’em by the pussy” comments to his producers at Extra at the time, but that they covered it up to protect their Apprentice cash cow. 

Bella Thorne has accused Charlie Puth of lying to the world about her and starting a “hate train” against her, because she wouldn’t sleep with him.

Boxer Gervonta Davis has been arrested for domestic violence.
