Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
Netflix is opening “theme parks” in Dallas and Philadelphia, and later in Las Vegas.
David Zaslav is getting a pay cut for making such a mess of Warner Bros. Discovery. My heart, it bleeds.
One of the few things that has gone right under Warner Bros. Discovery, The Pitt, will be back so much sooner than I realized! Season two has begun filming, and is expected to return in January, a mere year after the first season dropped. There’s more information about what we can expect at the clicky.
Speaking of The Pitt, Noah Wyle is putting his money where his mouth is: he’s been advocating for health care workers on Capitol Hill, and in this USA Today editorial. Keep up the good work, Dr. Carter/Robby.

LOL, YOUR BIG MUSCLE MAN HAS A HEART AND A CONSCIENCE, OH NO!

Jason Isaacs is spilling the teaaaaaaa. Everyone made $40,000 an episode of The White Lotus, in case you were wondering.
And Just Like That …‘s Hot Fellas bakery briefly became real over the weekend.
The woman who was kicked off Love Island for using the N-word is now whining about being canceled. That’s what consequences taste like, babe.
Oprah Winfrey says the reason she didn’t have children is because of Barbara Walters and her own relationship with her daughter, which must make Barbara Walters’ daughter feel JUST GREAT.
Oh my God, Below Deck is stealing from General Hospital (or is it the other way around?).
Gabby Windey remains my favorite creature to emerge from “Bachelor Nation.”
Happy Pride, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons!
Social media is now most people’s primary source for news, overtaking TV. A quick anecdote: yesterday, I saw that President America First had tweeted a threat to Iran, and I already had Threads open, so I checked there to see what was going on. One of the first things I saw was a video purporting to be Tel Aviv being hit by multiple rockets. Alarmed, I searched “Tel Aviv” and saw the same video over and over again, all the posts claiming that this was happening in the last 20 minutes or so. I turned on MSNBC only to find them talking about the budget bill, with no urgency over the situation in the Middle East, and I quickly realized that the video on social media that had been posted over and over again was just a lie — or at the very least an old video being recycled. Anyway, we’re doomed.
Speaking of the Middle East: the bad news, it’s looking like we’re headed to war with Iran. The good news? It’s ripping MAGA apart.
Hey — here is how late night handled the big beautiful birthday parade.
I’m profoundly grateful that Eric Dane is being so brave and open about his ALS diagnosis and bringing awareness, and hopefully more research funding, to this devastating disease. His story is heartbreaking and brutal, because this disease is heartbreaking and brutal. Having watched my father die of it … I wouldn’t wish ALS on my worst enemy.

The jury in the Harvey Weinstein trial arrived at a mixed verdict: “Guilty on Count 1 of a criminal sexual act in the first degree against Miriam Haley, not guilty of the same charge involving Kaja Sokola and no verdict on Jessica Mann.”
The Jessica Mann charge ended with a mistrial when the jury foreman refused to return to deliberations. It could be retried in the fall. And Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg apologized to Kaja Sokola: “I want to say to Miss Sokola, I’m deeply sorry that that was the result. I thank you for your bravery. Thank you for coming forward. Without the courage of survivors like you, prosecutors like us cannot pursue accountability and justice.”
R. Kelly is hoping President Sex Pest will pardon him and it’s very upsetting to think that such a pardon may not be off the table.
The Tell Me Everything documentary trailer teases some of Walters’ invasive questions, including when she told the Kardashians to their faces that they “don’t have any talent,” inquiring about Taylor Swift’s romantic life, and asking Lady Gaga about her sexuality.
Walters’ 1999 interview with Monica Lewinsky has also been reassessed in the contemporary era, after Walters grilled her about being labeled a “bimbo” and a “seductress,” and asked her if she felt like she was doing something “bad for the country” while engaging in an affair with President Bill Clinton.
That’s not to say that Barbara Walters was a bad person, but she was a reflection of the culture in these moments in time. And our shock at those questions demonstrates how far we’ve come — or, how “woke” we’ve become, depending on your perspective.
