Let’s celebrate the graduates (by not talking about TV)

No news today! I’m celebrating a huge, long-awaited family moment and will be back on Monday. Until then, enjoy these lovely graduation moments:

Service dog named Canela, receives a special patch for her vest in recognition of her hard work at graduation. Having a service dog in chemistry is nearly unheard of. It required many, many training sessions just to get her used to wearing PPE. @salad_and_crouton writes: “As I did research for an undergraduate thesis, this required even longer days in the lab. I am beyond grateful Rollins College provided such a wonderful campus and community, allowing me to thrive with my service dog by my side.” CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU BOTH!

CONGRATS, GRAD! An 80-year-old Vietnam veteran graduated from South Carolina State University to an uproar of applause from his graduating class. Linwood James Riddick was “fully engaged with the student experience — singing in the choir, performing at concerts,” the South Carolina State University president said, telling the graduate, “You inspire us all.” #graduation #veteran #troops #news #abcnews

A graduate at the University of Buffalo commencement ceremony was chased by security officials as he brought his baby on stage with him. In a statement, the University of Buffalo said the incident was “a violation of commencement rules,” which state that “only graduating students may participate in the graduation ceremony, including walking in the processional and crossing the stage.” #news #abcnews #graduation #commencement
