The possible ‘Buffy’ reboot takes shape and people are already complaining

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

What I would have given to have had Kermit the Frog be the commencement speaker at my college graduation. Congratulations, University of Maryland grads, that’s awesome!

There is a media rating site, NewsGuard, that employs journalists to give news media sites a score of 0-100 based on how trustworthy their reporting is. A site called Consortium News sued NewsGuard for defamation after they gave it a score of 47.5, but a judge threw out the case, saying that the score is “protected opinion.” Keep this in mind in the coming years, as NewsGuard is in the sights of Brendan Carr, the new head of the FCC, who is mad that the site gave Newsmax a low score.

Also of interest: a judge refused to throw out The New York Times‘ lawsuit against OpenAI for copyright infringement.

And while we’re on the subject of AI, Grok wants you to know that Elon is messing with its responses.

We have some details about the possible Buffy reboot: The new slayer will be named Nova, who is very cerebral and something of a loner; and she’ll have two friends, Hugo, “an out-and-proud nerd” and Gracie, an expert on vampires. As for Sara Michelle Gellar, she’ll be a “recurring guest star” which apparently is not good enough for a number of commenters on the original TVLine post.

Y’all didn’t really think she was going to be the star of this series, did you? The show is and always has been about the teen slayer, not the adults. Also, shockingly, there are already complaints that the show — which hasn’t been written yet — will be “woke,” because there will be a gay character. Tell me you didn’t watch the original series without telling me you didn’t see the original series.

Duke’s mad about Jason Isaac’s character wearing their T-shirt in that White Lotus scene.

Add Christina Hendricks to the list of actors who want to be on The White Lotus.

According to Laurie Metcalf, don’t expect The Conners‘ stories to all be neatly tied up:

“There’s a lot to wrap up, and I think the writers are really working hard to get everybody’s storylines sort of … not completed. It’s not going to have a big bow tied up with the Conners. And it will remain true to their storyline, what happens to them in the final episode, but, it’s a very short amount of time to wrap up this many seasons of a family that’s covered decades.”

Bethenny Frankel can’t believe that Teresa Giudice is in trouble again thanks in part to her husband, and that they would both go on television while engaging in tax evasion — ALLEGEDLY — but I can. I’m going to share some news with y’all: 1. Teresa Giudice lives beyond her means, and 2. Teresa Giudice is NOT SMART.

Eddie Alderson, the former child actor who played Matthew Buchanan on One Life to Live, literally saved the life of a train conductor at Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station. His TV mom is proud:

I can’t tell you how much I love this All My Children easter egg they snuck into General Hospital. If you know, you know.

Dick Carlson, Award-winning journalist, longest-serving director of Voice of America, former president and CEO of King World Public Television, and father of one Tucker Carlson. His story is fascinating, and I believe there is a clue in here as to how Tucker became Tucker. Let me know if you think you’ve found it.
