CNN finally managed to chase away their most outspoken Trump critic

I’ve been singing this song for days, and now it will be in your head, too. You’re welcome:

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

Martha Stewart was invited to host Saturday Night Live after she got out of jail, but the terms of her parole wouldn’t allow it.

No, there won’t be a second season of Agatha All Along, alas.

Oh no, Jill Zarin’s daughter, Ally, do not date that man.

This story would be a lot more interesting if it had been a permanent tattoo.

Meanwhile over on CNN:

Jennings: This salute trutherism is outrageous. Rampell: Do it right now on TV! If you think it’s a normal way to greet people, do it right now on TV. Why won’t you?!

There it is: Jim Acosta is leaving CNN after CNN deliberately chased him away. Nothing about this is surprising: despite being one of the highest-rated anchors — and loud anti-Trumper — CNN tried to move Acosta from his morning timeslot to the midnight to 2 a.m. spot, coincidentally right when President Free Speech came back to office.

Jim Acosta announces on air that he's leaving CNN and says, "it is never a good time to bow down to a tyrant … don't give in to the lies."

Some are calling for Acosta to replace Morning Joe on MSNBC. That’s not going to happen, but I’m sure MSNBC could find room for him somewhere.

God dammit, Google.

By the way, eggs aren’t cheaper.

#MeToo

The Blake Lively/Justin Baldoni conflict continues: Baldoni released 10 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage from the filming of It Ends With Us that he claims proves he did not sexually harass her. Never mind the fact that it is a selectively edited piece of footage devoid of context, and that by releasing it to the public, Baldoni is doing exactly what Lively has accused him of: attempting to manipulate public opinion against her.

Lively’s team released a statement which read in part, “Every frame of the released footage corroborates, to the letter, what Ms. Lively described in Paragraph 48 of her Complaint. The video shows Mr. Baldoni repeatedly leaning in toward Ms. Lively, attempting to kiss her, kissing her forehead, rubbing his face and mouth against her neck, flicking her lip with his thumb, caressing her, telling her how good she smells, and talking with her out of character. Every moment of this was improvised by Mr. Baldoni with no discussion or consent in advance, and no intimacy coordinator present. Mr. Baldoni was not only Ms. Lively’s co-star, but the director, the head of studio and Ms. Lively’s boss. Any woman who has been inappropriately touched in the workplace will recognize Ms. Lively’s discomfort. They will recognize her attempts at levity to try to deflect the unwanted touching.

An intimacy coordinator who viewed the footage had thoughts: “In a scene like that, without an intimacy coordinator, I think it was his responsibility to ask Blake, “Hey, what do you think about kissing in this scene?” if that’s what he wanted to see. But he didn’t ask her or even mention that it was something he wanted to shoot — he just went for it. She pulled away, and then he did it again. He definitely should have communicated that that was what he wanted to shoot, but he didn’t. To me, that’s pretty damning, both as an actor and a director.”

Lively’s team has also requested a gag order on Baldoni’s lawyer after releasing the footage, claiming that he is making false statements about the case.

And I am just now realizing that Baldoni’s lawyer is the same guy who represented Chris Harrison when he was fired from The Bachelor; Tucker Carlson, Don Lemon, Chris Cuomo, Kevin Spacey, and Megyn Kelly. Which might help explain why the Right has embraced Justin Baldoni in this case — well, that plus the whole “they hate women” thing.

Speaking of Don Lemon: Man who was fired from his job for being too misogynistic thinks it’s time for a comeback for a man accused of sexually abusing his subordinates and literally locking them in his office because, “Women love him!” Do we? Do we, Don?

So, Congress is obviously going to investigate January 6 from their own pro-insurrection perspective, because this is the hellscape we live in now. However, Speaker Mike Johnson was warned away from subpoenaing former White House aide and star witness to the previous January 6th investigation, Cassidy Hutchinson because it might lead to the release of multiple sexually explicit texts that lawmakers — plural — sent her. I say she just goes on ahead and release them. DO IT, CASSIDY.

Dark Horse Comics has dropped Neil Gaiman, canceling his Anansi Boys comic series.

Chris Brown is suing Warner Bros. Discovery over their docuseries Chris Brown: A History of Violence, claiming libel and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Sean Combs is suing a witness in his grand jury trial, and Nexstar for interviewing him.

D. Woods of Danity Kane revealed that Combs created a verbally abusive work environment.

Reginald VelJohnson would like you to know that in spite of Dave Chappelle’s jokes on SNL, he did not party with Sean Combs.

Mariano Rivera and his wife are being sued for covering up child sexual abuse that allegedly happened at their home and a summer camp their church runs. They deny the allegations.

James Kennedy will not be facing any charges for domestic violence.

Marilyn Manson will also not face charges for sexual assault and domestic violence because the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office are a bunch of cowards and statute of limitation laws are bullshit.

In a statement, Evan Rachel Wood wrote, “Evidence of violent crimes should not have an expiration date. I am grateful for the work law enforcement has done, and I am endlessly proud of all the survivors who risked everything to protect others by speaking the truth.”

Tracey Gold reveals that she confronted the writers on Growing Pains about making jokes about her weight and was dismissed as being too sensitive. She went on to develop an eating disorder because Hollywood is the worst.

A TV writer reveals that when she pitched her TV script as part of a program for women writers over the age of 40, she was asked repeatedly to make the female protagonist 20 years younger because they don’t believe women over 50 are “a valid audience.” This is my shocked face.
