Merry Christmas Eve, friends and fools! As I have mentioned before in this space, Christmas Eve is my family’s biggest holiday of the year — we host an Italian feast for our family and friends, routinely serving more than 50 people in our overheated home. Christmas is great and all, but honestly, we’re so exhausted from the night before that — and this is not an exaggeration — my husband and I have had to wake our children up to come open presents every Christmas morning. My point is, I’ve already taken too much time away from the kitchen to write this little note, and if I don’t get back there soon, my husband is going to strangle me with his olive-oil-slicked hands.
My Christmas Eve wish for you this year is that I do so hope your holiday — however you celebrate, with whomever you celebrate — is merry and bright. We have a long four years ahead of us, so take some time in these final few days of 2024 to find some peace and joy. We are all going to need to hold on to all of the happiness and strength we can find.
