Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
Here’s the original promo for A Charlie Brown Christmas:
Sarah Michelle Gellar is now open to a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot.
Is MSNBC putting Morning Joe into hiding on social media? (Yes.)
…the network’s main YouTube page and the “Morning Joe” X, Facebook and TikTok accounts, once flooded with daily clips, have all but stopped visibly featuring native “Morning Joe” video clips and its hosts since the backlash-igniting disclosure on Nov. 18.
The occasional “Morning Joe” content they have posted does not display the hosts’ faces, or their names — or even the words “Morning” or “Joe.”
So how did Blue Bloods end? Spoiler: at the dinner table, obvs.
And how did Yellowstone end? In a way that left fans VERY divided, but sounds like was foreshadowed.
Just don’t call Yellowstone a soap opera (even though it DEFINITELY is one).
Hallmark announced that their popular series The Way Home was moving to their streaming service, Hallmark+ in January and the fans FREAKED OUT. So now it will be available on both Hallmark Channel and Hallmark+ because DON’T MESS WITH YOUR AUDIENCES (especially when your audience is older women who don’t want to download another goddamned streamer).
Netflix’s new action thriller, Carry-On, was filmed in New Orleans’ old decommissioned airport, not LAX, and now I guess I’m required to watch it as I’ve spent more time in that airport than I care to admit.
This isn’t about TV, but the One Million Moms attacks on Wicked reveal their real agenda: being mad that gay people are allowed to exist.
Please do not throw glasses at Jamie Foxx.
Heal quickly, Bronwyn Newport.
What y’all know ’bout them Texas boys?

GODDAMMIT, ABC NEWS. ~takes deep breath~
Back in March, George Stephanopoulos interviewed Congresswoman Nancy Mace and he said “juries have found” Former President Liar-Elect “liable for rape.” Now, it’s a little trickier than that: In E. Jean Carroll’s defamation case, a jury found Former President Sexual Harrasser-Elect liable for sexually abusing and defaming Carroll. But the judge in the case wrote in a ruling:
“The finding that Ms. Carroll failed to prove that she was ‘raped’ within the meaning of the New York Penal Law does not mean that she failed to prove that Mr. Trump ‘raped’ her as many people commonly understand the word ‘rape.’ Indeed, as the evidence at trial recounted below makes clear, the jury found that Mr. Trump in fact did exactly that.”
Former President Convicted Felon-Elect sued ABC News and Stephanopoulos for defamation for saying he was liable for rape, when the jury found him liable for sexual abuse (even though as you can see above the judge adjudicated that it was, in fact, rape).
WELP. Former President Dingus-Elect was supposed to be deposed in the case this week when news broke this weekend that ABC News settled the case, saying Stephanopoulos will publicly apologize and ABC News will donate $15 million to a presidential foundation and pay $1 million in Former President Are-You-Fucking-Kidding-Me-Elect’s legal fees.
Here’s the problem: most legal voices agree that ABC News would have won this case. Sure, it would have dragged out and it would have cost a lot of money, but the facts were on ABC News’ side. By capitulating, this looks like yet another media outlet bending the knee to Former President Litigious-Elect out of fear of retribution once he resumes office. This is ABC News’ owner, Disney, being terrified of angering the future President of the United States, WHICH IS NO WAY TO RUN A NEWS BUSINESS. How can one speak truth to power, expose lies and corruption and malfeasance, keep those in charge held to account if you’re afraid of them? I’m asking you, The Washington Post, Morning Joe and now, apparently, ABC News.
Wow. Feels like one more mainstream news organization bending the knee. https://t.co/VqQo8WGyo0

The big Q about the Trump-ABC settlement: Why did ABC agree to pay and apologize? The network won’t say. It could have kept fighting in court, but decided to pay $$ to end the dispute and make the case go away. In settling a case they could have won against Trump, ABC News broke the first rule of resisting autocracy: “Do not obey in advance.” My post here: https://open.substack.com/pub/margaretsullivan/p/abc-news-should-never-have-settled?r=1yc91&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email

ABC News simply stated what the judge in the E. Jean Carroll case stated: The jury found that Donald Trump had raped E. Jean Carroll.
There is no way ABC would have lost in court.
15 million is protection money against other suits and revocation of its broadcast license.

And guess what? Message received: Just today, Former President Fake News-Elect said in a press conference that he will be suing more media outlets, because why not? What an easy way for him to silence the press, while simultaneously lining his pockets! He’s already suing the Des Moines Register and pollster Ann Selzer, CBS News and 60 Minutes for interviewing Vice President Harris, and the Pulitzer committee for honoring the New York Times for their coverage of the Russian interference into our elections. Who’s next? What’s next? And what will this do to the business of covering Former President Insurrectionist-Elect once he officially takes office? Who will be willing to tell the truth about this administration?
