Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

Before we get started, have you voted in the TV Foolishness Tournament yet? Well, why not?

Sounds like DirectTV (and U-Verse) are digging in for a protracted battle with Disney over this carriage dispute. WELL, GREAT.

In honor of Star Trek Day (September 8), premiere episodes of many Star Trek series will be available to stream for free between September 7-13 on “Paramount+ partner platforms Amazon, Apple and Roku, its official YouTube page, Pluto TV and on the Paramount+ free content hub (U.S.).”

This story is clearly a MadLib: after police were called to Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo, TN on a report that a guest was bitten by a camel, the police noticed “suspicious odors” coming from said guest’s car. As a result, 1000-lb Sisters reality star Amy Slaton was arrested for drug possession and child endangerment. There is no more information about the camel bite.

I’ve seen this reported everywhere so I guess it’s of interest to someone, but Vanna White says she was “scared” she wouldn’t have chemistry with Ryan Seacrest but then she did and that’s what counts as a news story right now.

Here’s your first look at the new Wheel of Fortune set:

Oh no, Elle Macpherson! (Also, please get treated!)

#MeToo

Dancing With The Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev was arrested for domestic violence last week. He’s married to former WWE star Nikki Bella, who is reportedly looking for a divorce attorney.

Winona Ryder has opened up about how being sexually harassed in her 20s and 30s soured her on working in Hollywood. She also recounted how she infuriated Harvey Weinstein, who retaliated against her career.

“The one time I was supposed to have a meeting with [Weinstein], I went to the Miramax office and I extended my hand and he shook my hand and I sat on the couch and we had a conversation and I left,” she recalled to Esquire U.K. “And [afterwards] I got like screamed at [by an agent]. ‘What the f‑‑‑ did you do?’ I was like, ‘What?’ Apparently, I offended him because I extended my hand?”

When asked if Weinstein was “expecting something else,” Ryder replied, “I guess.”

The second incident allegedly occurred before their botched meeting on the set of the 1993 film The House of the Spirits. Ryder claimed that Weinstein knocked on her trailer door to inform her that he wanted her to play the lead role in his 1998 adaptation of Jim Cartwright’s play The Rise and Fall of Little Voice.

“I was like, ‘Oh my God, I just saw that in London.’ I was like, ‘You have to cast that girl [from the play], Jane Horrocks. She’s fucking amazing,'” Ryder recalled. “And he got very weird and he left.” (Horrocks later played the part of Little Voice in the adaptation.)

The actress said she thinks Weinstein refused to hire her — and thwarted others from doing so along the way — because she “knew a little bit too much,” adding, “He did not like me.”

Men can’t even leave women’s bathing suits alone. What a gross thing to admit, Jeremy Jackson.

Armie Hammer continues on his “please hire me” tour, this time whinging that he’s having to sell his truck because he is so poor. Maybe don’t be a cannibalistic sex pest, Armie.

Scott McCreary is a mensch.
