An entire tapestry of ‘House of the Dragon’ stories and dragon eggs

Hey, have you told me what show you wish I would recap? Could you do that in the comments, please? I’d appreciate it!

Here’s A BUNCH OF House of the Dragon News

OK, so I debated when to post this — House of the Dragon still has two more episodes to go when this goes live — but I suspect you’re more interested in reading some of these bits and pieces than scrolling past some cute puppies being cute.

(I will probably still do another comprehensive House of Dragon post sometime after the finale which airs on August 4, so stay tuned.)

Let’s break down that new opening:

The season premiere was down from the series premiere, but it gave Max its best day ever — because when House of the Dragon premiered, it was still HBO Max.

The season began with one of the most shocking deaths of the series so far, but what’s crazy is that the scene was FAR WORSE in the books. Hard to imagine, I know, but you gotta trust me.

If you were wondering when Alicent got together with THAT character, according to the showrunner, it’s a new thing.

That funeral sequence in the second episode was inspired by Princess Diana’s funeral procession.

In the books, Alicent and Viserys have a third son, Daeron, who has, as of yet, not been seen on the show. However, he is mentioned in the second episode, so he might still play a role later down the road. Probably not this season — casting for the role has not been announced — but possibly in later seasons.

“Any man who must say ‘I am the king’ is no true king.”

Check out the top comment on this post:

George R. R. Martin loved the addition of this character, and wishes he had thought of it himself.

R.I.P. The Queen that Never Was. Here’s how it played out in the book.

Also, Aemond’s part in Aegon’s fall is not in the books, but certainly adds tension and dimension to the power struggle going on behind the scenes amongst The Greens.

As of this writing, it’s unclear if Sunfyre is dead, but if he is, that would be the biggest departure from the books yet.

That kiss between Rhaenyra and Mysaria wasn’t scripted specifically.

A list of Helaena Targaryen’s prophecies. Someone should be listening to this girl.

What THAT nude scene really meant.

One of the differences between this series and Game of Thrones is that the sex scenes are not sexy — deliberately.

Ewan Mitchell, the actor who plays Aemond, has never watched Game of Thrones, because he wanted to keep his portrayal original. Mission accomplished.

So how many legs do dragons have?

The Ringer demands that they show us how, exactly, the Targaryens get on their dragons, and it’s a fair point.

Matt Smith is a good ally:

MORE RELEVANT THAN EVER. Let’s learn our lesson, folks:
