No, ‘The Idol’ hasn’t been canceled. Yet.

OK but how many tranquilizers did they give this cat?

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

Unsurprisingly, it was a former Tucker Carlson producer who came up with that “wannabe dictator” chyron on Fox News the other night. He was fired for this little stunt. This is my surprised face.

I swear, I’m not turning this into an Idol blog, but this turkey just keeps giving us amazing material. Today’s story is that HBO is not planning to renew The Idol, thanks to all the bad word of mouth and The Weeknd being a lunatic. However, HBO has responded by saying “it’s definitely not a decision yet.” Yeah, it’s not coming back, and HBO is going to try to save face by saying that it was always imagined as a limited series or some bullshit.

An intimacy coordinator was not amused by the first episode of The Idol.

“To be honest, I had a very visceral reaction. I was appalled,” says Liroff, whose credits as an intimacy coordinator include “Hightown,” “From Scratch” and “This Is Us.” “I’m not alone in this, in terms of my intimacy coordinator communities: We look at HBO as our stalwart home, so to speak, because their work with Alicia Rodis was so good that they made it mandatory that all projects on HBO [featuring sexually intimate scenes] must hire in an intimacy coordinator. It set a standard, and many other streamers and networks have followed along. So I felt really betrayed that they were making fun of us and the job. They were using us as the butt of the joke.”

I feel every single word of this review of The Idol.

Cynthia Nixon out here throwing some (very minor) shade at Kim Cattrall.

Billie Eilish is here to remind you that you’re not supposed to like her character in Swarm (and if you do, you need to stay away from any and all cults).

Wait, Bo Dietl got involved in the Teresa-Melissa drama on Real Housewives of New Jersey? What?

Susan Lucci and Maury Povich will be honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Daytime Emmys.

Michael Cera and Aubrey Plaza very nearly got married so that they could call each other their ex-wife and ex-husband, which is very on-brand for both of them.

Here are our winners for the Critics Choice Real TV Awards. Somehow FBoy Island was shut out.

This is interesting but it makes sense: A number of Dallas cast members were angry about the whole “it was all a dream” plotline because it threw out their storylines that had been developed over the course of 31 episodes.
