Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
Following his arraignment yesterday, Former President Twice Arrested gave a speech at his Bedminster, New Jersey property where he spewed a bunch of dangerous lies and garbage.
MSNBC and CNN chose to not air it; PBS aired it with an unprecedented chyron that read, “EXPERTS WARN THAT INFLAMMATORY RHETORIC FROM ELECTED OFFICIALS OR PEOPLE IN POWER CAN PROMPT INDIVIDUAL ACTORS TO COMMIT ACTS OF VIOLENCE.”
This is a real Fox News chyron. pic.twitter.com/4u3meRzXUY

And Fox News, who obviously also aired the speech, at one point went to a split screen with President Biden at the White House with their own unprecedented chyron that read — and this is not a joke — “WANNABE DICTATOR SPEAKS AT THE WHITE HOUSE AFTER HAVING HIS POLITICAL RIVAL ARRESTED.” Fox News later responded with a statement claiming that the chyron was removed “immediately and was addressed.” Whatever the hell that means. This is going to be an exhausting election season, y’all.
This is such obvious bullshit. Of course the chyron was "taken down immediately" — it aired at 8:59 p.m.! The show it was on ended and a new one started. https://t.co/GJPEJ5MCNb

It is one thing to be a partisan bullshit machine. It is another thing to simultaneously claim to be a news organization. Fox is allergic to facts. Big lawsuits haven't changed that. This chyron has no basis in fact and spreads dangerous lies. https://t.co/l5g0eXQgQI

Meanwhile at Fox News today…
"You son of a bitch, you removed Tucker Carlson, but you left the Chyron Operator, didn't ya? Ya son of a bitch, you removed Tucker, but you left the Chyron Operator. YOU LEFT THE CHYRON OPERATOR!!!!" pic.twitter.com/Qv9FGW3z3j

Elsewhere in Former President Sexual Assaulter’s ongoing legal woes: a judge has ruled that E. Jean Carroll can amend her defamation lawsuit to include the crap he said about her during the CNN town hall after she had just won $5 million from him 24 hours earlier.
Someone finally outlines what was so terrible about the original Game of Thrones pilot and it’s fascinating. Among a lack of chemistry between actors, too many scenes shot in the dark or lacking a grand scope, and a failure to express why direwolves are so cool, “Dolly Parton hair” is a phrase that is included.
Last month when CBS announced its fall schedule, I thought it seemed pretty optimistic in the wake of a writers’ strike having just gotten underway. They loaded the schedule up with new and returning scripted series, whereas other networks took a much more conservative approach with a lot of reality and competition series, or shows from Canada. Welp, looks like CBS is starting to realize that maybe Fall TV won’t be coming back after all, and looking to more reality and possibly some content from Paramount+. Good luck, guys!
Whoopi Goldberg has tossed her hat in the ring to host Wheel of Fortune. And honestly, who wouldn’t want the job? The man works FOUR DAYS A MONTH and was making $15 million a year — back in 2016. It’s ridiculous.
In an alternate universe somewhere, Negan killed Maggie.
The Weeknd has convinced himself that The Idol has “shaken up the culture,” but … as someone who spends all her time listening in to the conversation about television and culture, I don’t hear anyone really talking about it? Except maybe to talk about how unexpectedly boring it is?

Omg, The Idol is sooo bad. And I say this as someone who loves The Weeknd’s music. I think the creators think it’s brave or titillating, but it’s just boring. It is the epitome of “all vibes, no plot.”
