How’s that Oscars “fan favorite” scheme going? Oh, people are voting for movies that aren’t eligible and some Johnny Depp mess that no one’s heard of? WELL OF COURSE THEY ARE. A+++++ plan, everyone. Well done.

Hey, remember that “Brotherhood of Man” NBC promo I shared with you recently? Vanity Fair followed up with this story about the making of the promo and there are some amazing tidbits:

1. Taika Waititi directed it (!!!)

2. Chevy Chase just walked out on the shooting.

3. Alec Baldwin claims to not remember making it.

4. Tina Fey was a super great sport.

5. And Former President Cheez Whiz had to be crammed in at the last second and was, unsurprisingly, a complete asshole about the whole thing.

It’s truly worth reading the entire story if you can get behind the paywall.

This is an interesting piece about how Archive 81 used sound to elevate the creepiness — which makes sense since the series originated as a podcast.
