The World Series, ‘The 4400,’ ‘Doctor Who,’ a bunch of scary movies and everything else you don’t want to miss on TV this week.

 

MONDAY

The 4400: 4,400 people who had been missing — some for as long as a century — are suddenly returned to Detroit, not having aged a day. Series premiere.  8 p.m., The CW

All American: Spencer makes a big decision in the season premiere. 7 p.m., The CW

Child’s Play/Chucky marathon: It’s Halloween week — Halloweek? — so I’m going to be recommending a lot of horror in this post. First up, the campy murdering doll series is marathon-ed. Also, you should totally check out the new series — it’s fun! 9 a.m., Syfy

TUESDAY

World Series Game 1: LET’S GO ASTROS!! 6:30 p.m., Fox

The Last O.G.: Tray finds himself in a coma after getting shot in the one-hour season premiere. 9 p.m., TBS

Carrie: Both body horror, and a commentary on female repression and anger, this is one of the horror greats, and still holds up.  7 p.m., AMC

WEDNESDAY

Hypnotic: After feeling stuck in her career and life, a woman (played by Midnight Mass‘ Kate Siegel) goes to a hypnotist only to “discover unexpected and deadly consequences.”  Netflix

The Exorcist: This movie is nearly 50 years old, and remains one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen.  8:30 p.m., AMC

The Ring: “You will die in 7 days.” 11 p.m., Paramount Network

THURSDAY

Walker: Walker’s life is in danger in the second season premiere. 7 p.m., The CW

Horror Noire: This new anthology film features horror by Black creators. Premiere. Shudder

Love Life: William Jackson Harper stars in the second season as a man looking for love after his marriage implodes. Season premiere. HBO Max

Hitmen: Season two premiere. Peacock

Star Trek: Prodigy: Series premiere of the animated Star Trek series for kids. Paramount+

Selena + Chef: Season three premiere. HBO Max

Fairfax: Four Los Angeles middle-schoolers search for clout in this new animated series. Series premiere. Amazon

FRIDAY

Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin: The next chapter in the Paranormal Activity story is upon us. Paramount+

Colin in Black and White: A dramatized version of Colin Kaepernick’s life, and how his high school experiences led him to become an activist. Series premiere. Netflix

Army of Thieves: In this prequel to Army of the Dead, a German safe cracker leads a team on a heist during the early days of a zombie apocalypse. Premiere. Netflix

SATURDAY

In the Heights: Lin-Manuel’s Broadway musical about a bodega owner yearning for a better life. 7 p.m., HBO

Halloween marathon: All the Michael Myers you can shake a butcher knife at. 3 a.m., AMC

SUNDAY

Doctor Who: On Halloween, evil forces are stirring across the entire universe. Season premiere. 7 p.m., BBC America

The Visit: Yes, 6 a.m., so set your DVR. But this thriller about grandparents gone wrong is a terrifying campy ride. 6 a.m., FX

Ghost Adventures marathon: Zak Bagans and his group of d-bags scream at ghosts all day long. 11 a.m., Travel Channel
