Eddington: Look. I’m going to be straight-up with you: I think putting this on HBO Comedy is setting some people up to be … confused. Because this Ari Aster movie that captures the absolute insanity of what we all went through during the pandemic — and 2020 in general — is going to leave some viewers with PTSD, rather than belly laughs. That said, this completely unhinged (and deeply, darkly funny) movie, while one of my favorites of 2025, is not for everyone. See: The Oscars, which completely snubbed it. Just be sure you go into it knowing what your tolerance for Ari Aster movies is (think: Hereditary and Midsommer). 7:10 p.m., HBO Comedy

FRIDAY

Masters of Illusion: Season premiere. 8 p.m., The CW

Inside the 68th Grammy Awards: The Grammys are coming soon, I guess. 7 p.m., CBS

Miracle: The Boys of ’80: Someone at Netflix heard you’re into hockey these days. Netflix

Balance: A Perimenopause Journey: A pair of monks seek to take control over their health and lives by educating themselves on the hormonal storm that is perimenopause, and how the medical community has largely ignored a period of life that all women go through in this new documentary series. Prime Video & Apple TV

SATURDAY

Saturday Night Live: Alexander Skarsgård & Cardi B. 10:30 p.m., NBC

If I Had Legs, I’d Kick You: Rose Byrne just got nominated for her role in this movie as a woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown, dealing with a sick kid, an absent husband, and a flooded apartment. 7 p.m., HBO

The Hunger Games marathon: I’m old enough to remember when The Hunger Games was dystopian fantasy and not a fucking glimpse into our future. 7:30 a.m., E!

SUNDAY
