Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
I need you to see these two headlines on the same site about the same show:
“HBO’s Ambitious New Fantasy Series Is an Instant Streaming Sensation”
The lowest-rated streaming sensation. Both things can be true, and yet …
This is a very good question: If Netflix acquires Warner Bros., what will it do with Turner Classic Movies? By buying Warner Bros., Netflix will also acquire one cable channel — TCM — which is quite significant to some very important Hollywood players, like Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese. Netflix, which is decidedly not in the cable business, also needs to placate a lot of Hollywood talent if it is going to make this takeover work, and may not be in a position to shutter the beloved channel. Stay tuned.
The number of television shows being made has dropped for the third straight year in a row. And it’s not just cable and network TV.
Please invite Jennifer Lawrence back, SNL. Despite being one of the biggest stars in the universe, she hasn’t hosted since 2013. And she’s proven herself to be one of the funniest celebrities out there — just look at the way she roasted Leonardo DiCaprio to his face a few weeks ago. Now that she’s older and more confident, I’m sure she’d do a terrific job. MAKE IT HAPPEN, LORNE.
@varietymagazine #JenniferLawrence says #LeonardoDiCaprio would “look great” with a teenage daughter and “loved” seeing him as a dad in “One Battle After Another.” Watch Variety and @CNN’s #ActorsOnActors now at Youtube.com/Variety and on the CNN app.
Mark Consuelos AND Joaquin Consuelos are both joining Broadway shows. Different Broadway shows.
Boots was the most-watched Netflix series that was canceled last year. I mean, someone has to be, right?
Karamo Brown also skipped CBS Mornings yesterday. Awkward.
Stephen Colbert will be Seth Meyers’ guest next week in a segment that I hope lives in President Greenland’s nightmares.
Don Lemon reported on a protest that went inside a St. Paul, MN church during Sunday services, and now he’s being threatened by President Agitator and Nicki Minaj.
Supernatural used an Impala for Baby because you can fit a body in the trunk. Sound reasoning.
Here’s the cast of Love Story — the upcoming JFK Jr./Carolyn Bessette series from Ryan Murphy — compared to their real-life counterparts. Some of them are very well cast! (But not all.)
Well, Jake Tapper is finally alarmed, so you know it must be very serious.
