Apocalypse in the Tropics: This well-reviewed documentary explores the increasingly tight grip evangelical faith leaders have over Brazil’s political leaders, creating turmoil throughout the country. Again, this is set in Brazil. I’m sure it has no bearing here in the United States. Netflix

Bachelor in Paradise: Wait, is this dreck going to be three hours every week?! ~checks schedule~ AND THERE’S ANOTHER EPISODE TOMORROW? ~passes out~ 7 p.m., ABC

Stags: A group of British guys go on a bachelor trip to South America and things go … sideways. And not in a funny Hangover kinda way. Hulu

TUESDAY

MLB All-Star Game: It’s some nonsense that not a single Astro was nominated as a starter for this game, though. Be so for real, guys.  6 p.m., Fox

Entitled: Bret Gelman stars in this dark comedy about an American widower who returns to his wife’s estate to bury her, only to learn that her estranged family isn’t happy to see him or learn of his inheritance. Series premiere.  Netflix

Her Last Broadcast: The Abduction of Jodi Huisentruit: This three-part docuseries explores the 1995 disappearance of Iowa news anchor, Jodi Huisentruit, and reveals a new lead that might solve the cold case. Premiere. Hulu

The Summer I Turned Pretty: Third season premiere. Prime Video

Sullivan’s Crossing: Everyone’s relationships come to a head in the season finale. 7 p.m., The CW

Amy Bradley is Missing: This true crime docuseries looks into the disappearance of a 23-year-old woman from a cruise ship, and her family’s search for answers. Premiere. Netflix

Miley Cyrus: Something Beautiful: A pop opera featuring 13 new songs from Cyrus’ new visual album, Something Beautiful. Disney+ & Hulu

The 2025 ESPYs: Shane Gillis hosts the annual sports awards ceremony. 7 p.m., ABC

Untamed: Eric Bana stars as a federal agent who is investigating a woman’s death in Yosemite National Park. Series premiere. Netflix

The Amateur: Rami Malek stars as a CIA decoder who decides to take an investigation into his own hands when his agency refuses to take action after a terrorist attack in London that killed his wife. Premiere. Hulu

The Furry Detectives: This documentary series follows a group of furries who investigate allegations of animal abuse within their community. Premiere. AMC+, Sundance Now

Surf Girls International: Season two premiere. Prime Video

Transplant: The York Medical staff reflect on their paths forward. Series finale. 7 p.m., NBC

  1. Ummm, “Strange New Worlds” is charming and hopeful and it’s worth watching just to remember that the future doesn’t have to be terrible.
