Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
Kit Harington agrees “mistakes were made” with the end of the story of Game of Thrones, but insists that the cast was too exhausted to do any more episodes. I definitely agree with the first part and begrudgingly believe the second.
Harington also explains why Snow, his Jon Snow spinoff, was shelved: “What I can tell you is it was HBO that came to me and said, ‘Would you consider this?’” he recalled. “My first reaction was ‘no.’ And then I thought there could be an interesting and important story about the soldier after the war. I felt that there might be something left to say and a story left to tell in a pretty limited way. We spent a couple of years back and forth developing it. And it just didn’t … nothing got us excited enough. In the end, I kind of backed out and said, ‘I think if we push this any further and keep developing it we could end up with something that’s not good. And that’s the last thing we all want.’”
Also, he didn’t want to be pigeonholed in the role of Jon Snow, which is certainly the biggest piece of this particular puzzle.
Jimmy Kimmel isn’t going to host the Oscars this year because he’s “not good at balancing.”
Kelly Ripa, Angela Bassett, James Cameron, “Jamie Lee Curtis, James L. Brooks, Harrison Ford, Frank Oz, John Williams, Miley Cyrus, costume designer Colleen Atwood, Disney Parks cast member Martha Blanding, the late Marvel comic artist Steve Ditko, animator Mark Henn, and Imagineer Joe Rohde” were installed in the “Disney Legends” hall of fame this weekend.
I used to cover the Olympics here and over on Tubular: it was exhausting but always fun at the end of the day. But then the 2020 Olympics were delayed because of COVID, and then the 2021 Olympics were taking place when my family was touring colleges for one of my kids and also they seemed like a bummer. But then the Paris Olympics seemed promising! Except I had a chance to go to London for a week during the start of them and covering them was just not possible.
Long story short, I regret not covering the Paris Olympics for a number of reasons, but most of all because of my newest obsession, Australian Olympic Breakdancer Raygun. She has a Ph.D. in breakdancing, and a love of dance in her heart. And as far as I can tell, that was enough to make her an OLYMPIC ATHLETE.
@mriley621 see you in 2028 bitches. … how is this real 😂 #breakdancing #olympics #olympicsbreakdancing
@ris.tok Oh NAURRRR #olympics
@underthedesknews My Olympics was making this mashup. Interview by Iconic, male voice commentary by @Lean Dreams 🏅 #olympics #breaking #paris2024 Raygun won our hearts 🫶
The Australians, who had been talking a BIG GAME, have suddenly become a lot quieter about their one-sided beef with America.
@centralparkturtle Hi Australia this is my audition for your 2028 breakdancing team thank you #australia #breaking #breakdancing #olympics #breaking #paris2024 #olympicsbreakdancing #australianbreakdancing
@kpifthatscool Replying to @🫠 i am raygun, raygun is me 🥇#breakdancing #breaking #olympics #olympicbreakdance #raygun

@chloefineman All hail RAYGUN. Girl hopped like a kangeroo and ate??? 🦘🦘🦘🤣🤣 #raygun #olympics #australia #raygunolympics
In other final Olympics news, here’s a good explanation of what is going on with the infuriating attempt to strip US Gymnast Jordan Chiles of her Bronze Medal for her floor routine. Fortunately, US Gymnastics is appealing the decision, and claim to have the receipts.

Peacock is unhinged:
@peacock Is it really over? 🥺 #ParisOlympics are streaming now on Peacock. #TeamUSA #Olympics
Baby Billy is in the building!
Elle King doesn’t like her father Rob Schneider and who can blame her?
What is Warner Bros. Discovery’s thing against their legacy of animation?
A bunch of Netflix anime series were leaked online via one of their post-production partners and they’re real mad about it.
Oh my goodness, heal quickly, Nev Schulman.
Feel better soon, Rod Stewart. As someone who is also battling COVID, I feel ya.
Some quick political news:
Former President Misogynist is out here calling Vice President Kamala Harris a “bitch.” Meanwhile, the GOP is whinging about Democrats calling them weird. Cry me a fucking river, you weirdos.
His campaign really needs to be sure to clear their musical choices: Isaac Hayes’ family is suing them for $3 million for using “Hold On, I’m Coming” without their permission multiple times. And Celine Dion’s team had some SHADY thoughts about his unauthorized use of “My Heart Will Go On”:
Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing “My Heart Will Go On” at a Donald Trump / JD Vance campaign… pic.twitter.com/28CYLFvgER

(Kamala Harris has received permission, with blessings, from Beyoncé to use “Freedom” by the way.)
Oh, and Former President Narcissistic Mortification is claiming that Vice President Harris and Governor Walz crowds at their rallies are A.I. because his glass ego can’t handle that they are attracting bigger crowds with more enthusiasm than he is. OH WELL.
