Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

I knew I loved Severance:

So … does this make KierJacob?

Chuck Todd is leaving NBC News after 18 years. It’s not entirely surprising: there had been talk of him leaving ever since he stepped down from Meet the Press, and with the coming changes with NBC News and MSNBC. But it does feel like the entire world of news media is experiencing some sort of seismic shift right now.

I’m sorry, what is the most-watched SNL sketch of all time? No, not “More Cowbell.” No, not “Land Shark.”

Jason Isaacs and the rest of the cast of The White Lotus are big babies about the heat in Thailand (she wrote, never having been to Thailand).

One of the stars of Netflix’s Oscar-nominated Emilia Pérez is having some of her old Tweets come back to bite her just in time for the members of the Academy to vote.

Saul Goodman almost never existed because some AMC executive didn’t like the character. Can you even imagine? Another interesting fact: while Bob Odenkirk was always the first choice for the role, Michael McKean’s name was also in the mix (and yeah, I see it).

That disastrous immersive Star Wars hotel at Disney World is being converted into office space.

Jason Kelce won’t say who he’s rooting for in the Super Bowl, and there literally might not be a single person in the United States whose allegiances are more torn.

Chuck Lorre is grateful to the firemen who saved his home.

“Everything is going to be peachy keen.”

Oh no, Patti Smith, feel better soon!

After his disgusting press conference less than 24 hours after the horrific plane crash in Washington D.C. where he blamed Black people, women, and the disabled for the crash based on absolutely nothing, President Racist signed an executive order blaming Black people, women, and the disabled for the crash based on absolutely nothing.

Insanity — Trump signs an order blaming Biden and DEI for flight dangers

The naive optimist in me thinks this is just an empty gesture, an Executive Tweet, if you will. The cynic in me who has lived through the first administration worries that this is an actual directive being sent to the FAA, demanding that this be what they ultimately find in their investigation.

Meanwhile, an early investigation finds that DCA’s traffic control was understaffed, a situation that is not going to be helped by this administration’s federal hiring freeze and slashing of jobs.

Anyway, President Empathy on whether or not he would visit the site of the crash: “You want me to go swimming?”

Trump, asked if he plans to visit the crash site:"What's the site, the water? You want me to go swimming?"

He then added that he was going to visit some people who were “very badly hurt.” There were no survivors.

They are coming for PBS and NPR, obviously. The new FCC head is trying to gut federal funding for the outlets claiming that they are “airing commercials” through their underwriting announcements. Of course, if they didn’t have underwriters, they couldn’t exist: “NPR reports that it receives about 1 percent of its funding directly from the federal government each year, while PBS receives 16 percent. Much of their funding comes from the sponsorship of supporters; public broadcasters are allowed to air corporate underwriting spots, which acknowledge sponsors without endorsing products or services.”

And over at Paramount, they are looking to settle the $10 BILLION WITH A B lawsuit President ThinSkin filed against them for editing a 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris, because they are afraid he’ll dick them over in their planned merger with Skydance. This is not normal, but this is the reality under President Quid Pro Quo.

Megyn Kelly is already attacking the reboot of Little House on the Prairie as being “woke” — even though it hasn’t even started filming yet. And Melissa Gilbert has some thoughts: “Ummm… watch the original again. TV doesn’t get too much more ‘woke’ than we did. We tackled: racism, addiction, nativism, antisemitism, misogyny, rape, spousal abuse and every other ‘woke’ topic you can think of. Thank you very much.” WORD.

The real former Mrs. Larry David has some sharp words for the fake former Mrs. Larry David.

The deportations are going just great. And saving us a ton of money.

Elon Musk’s mother is encouraging him to sue CNN over the whole Nazi salute thing that he definitely did. He’s also talking about suing Tim Walz and Rachel Maddow for the same thing. You know what? Do it, you Nazi dork. Go ahead and sue.

Oh look, it’s another Nazi who feels emboldened to say what he believes for some reason. HMM, WONDER WHY HE FEELS LIKE HE CAN DO THAT RIGHT NOW. But apparently, saying that Hitler wanted to “purify” his country from the “greedy Jews” and that the Holocaust didn’t happen isn’t a good enough reason to kick this Nazi out of the UFC because of “free speech.” Of course, other people have been fired from the UFC for … “paraphrasing a sexual assault joke from a TV show” and “lightly criticiz[ing] some of the company’s business practices,” but openly praising Adolf Hitler? Nah. Free speech, bro. Just super great times we live in right now.

At least the Anglican Catholic Church doesn’t tolerate Nazis. It’s a low bar, but it’s all we have these days.
