Today is the 40th anniversary of the show that would eventually become Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, now Live with Kelly and Ryan and soon to be Live with Kelly and Mark. TV Line has created a nice timeline to honor the now morning stalwart.

HUGE NEWS: HBO is actively discussing another Game of Thrones prequel series, this one based on the conquering of Westeros by Aegon I Targaryen. (Well, the conquering of most of Westeros — he never conquered Dorne, she said, while pushing her nerd glasses up her nerd nose.) The events in this series would take place roughly 300 years before Game of Thrones, and 100 years before House of the Dragon. If House of the Dragon is only going to be a four or five-season-long series, I could totally see HBO moving forward on this now so that it could be ready when House of the Dragon concludes, instead of having to wait several years between series. Stay tuned.

So Curb Your Enthusiasm isn’t ending? Maybe?

Obviously, today’s big story is that Former President Twice Impeached is turning himself in to be arraigned in Manhattan for potentially over 30 felony charges. I’m not going to dwell on this now in part because I feel like it contributes to the spectacle that he is craving. I am going to wait and save my glee words for when a trial actually happens, and pray that the judge does not allow Former President Dipshit’s legal team to drag prosecuting the case out indefinitely.

That said, I will point out a couple of things:

3. There is a lot of crying on the right about Former President Fraud’s arrest being purely politically motivated. It’s not, he paid off a porn star to help him become President, which is a crime. But if the Republicans want to cry about politically-motivated legal actions, they need to look no further than Florida and Tennessee:

In Florida, the chair of Florida’s Democratic Party, Nikki Fried, and the State Senate minority leader, Sen. Lauren Book were arrested at a peaceful protest over the state’s 6-week-abortion ban.

And in Tennessee, three Democratic State Representatives, Justin Jones, Gloria Johnson, and Justin J. Pearson joined a student protest at the Capitol, asking for action on gun laws to, you know, KEEP THEM SAFE IN THEIR CLASSROOMS. In response, all three representatives had their member IDs turned off, they were stripped from their committee assignments and there is now a resolution to remove them from their seats altogether.

So, yeah, tell me more about how Former President Criming is being politically persecuted, please.

Sara Beth Leibe, an American Idol contestant who was made fun of by Katy Perry for having three kids at 25, chose to leave the show to be with her family. Perry urged her to stay on the show, choosing “self-love” over “motherly love,” but Stewart left anyway. This has sparked a whole conversation on “mom shaming.”

Donald Glover says that had he landed a spot on the cast of SNL, his career wouldn’t have taken the direction it has. I mean … I get what he’s saying, but then I turn to Barry, and Ted Lasso, and Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s careers, and all of Fred Armisen’s projects and … I have to disagree. I know that the typical “successful” career path from SNL traditionally looks more like Will Ferrell’s and Eddie Murphy’s — which is to say to spend one’s life making big-budget comedy films. But it also seems like more recent generations of SNL performers are finding new and interesting paths forward, and I don’t know why Glover couldn’t have done the same.

Melanie Lynskey opened up in an interview with Vulture about her unpleasant experience on Two and a Half Men, where she was underpaid and locked into a disadvantageous contract that took her years to get out of. They clearly didn’t appreciate what they had.

Joshua Tylerbest, who appeared on Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette, was arrested and charged with possessing child pornography.

Jonathan Majors’ attorneys have released supposed text messages from his alleged victim that are supposed to exonerate him. Personally, I don’t think these messages exonerate him.

The U.S. Army went forward with their ad campaign that was supposed to feature Majors during the Final Four, they just removed him from the commercials.
