Counterargument: Let all the quokkas in.

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

The big news of the day is that legendary comedy duo Desus & Mero are, indeed, splitting up and their show is ending at Showtime.

There had been rumors of a split floating around recently, with both men throwing shade online, so it’s not entirely surprising, but disappointing for fans nonetheless.

All over my feed, people were screaming about HBO releasing the first footage of Jennifer Coolidge and Aubrey Plaza in The White Lotus, and I was like, “So many people are talking about this, it must really be something!” But I’m here to tell you it is really nothing. It’s three quick shots, totaling all of four seconds. If this is super important to you, it comes at the 16-second mark. Otherwise, just wait until the trailer comes out later this year.

A new House of the Dragons promo has just dropped: this time with interviews with George R.R. Martin and showrunners Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal.

ALERT, MY NERDS: Duolingo will soon offer lessons in High Valyrian.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan has an update for you. What I want to know is whether the filming on this will be over soon enough for him to go do a cameo — or more — on The Boys. Considering filming on The Boys begins next month, it probably won’t work out. 🙁

No, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert folks are not going to jail over the Capitol kerfuffle, OBVIOUSLY.

Let’s settle this debate: Not every show needs to have sex. The Bear is one of these shows.

If you were unaware, the Stranger Things character of Eddie was based on a real person, Damien Echols, one of three Arkansas teenagers who were wrongfully convicted of murdering three young boys in the 1990s, and the subject of a game-changing documentary, Paradise Lost. Two decades later, Echols and the two others were re-sentenced to time served and released from prison — though not formally exonerated. Anyway, someone asked Echols about Eddie:

Ricky Martin’s 21-year-old nephew has accused him of engaging in an abusive sexual relationship. Martin emphatically denies the allegations as being “disgusting” and claims the individual in question has “deep mental health challenges.”

Eric Weinberg, the co-executive producer of Scrubs, has been arrested for a series of rapes and other sex crimes between 2012 and 2019, and is suspected of even more crimes, dating back to the 90s.

Kevin Spacey has pled not guilty in the sexual assault case against him in the U.K. In the meantime, he’s dropped out of a planned film about Genghis Khan.

A small group of Johnny Depp fans created an “organized campaign of widespread targeted harassment” online against Amber Heard supporters.

“Bouzy’s firm found that Heard supporters ‘were attacked relentlessly,’ often with ‘vulgar and threatening language.’ It wrote in the report that, ‘offensive tweets, misogyny, doxxing, and death threats were rampant’ in tweets targeting Heard supporters.”

I’m shocked. This is my shocked face.

Some files in the Roman Polanski case were recently unsealed which suggest that the judge in the case had reneged on a negotiated plea deal that would have kept Polanski out of jail, “forcing” him to flee.

Two women are expected to file a lawsuit alleging that George Foreman sexually abused them in the 1970s.

I do not have words for Elon Musk’s 76-year-old father, Errol, announcing his second child with his stepdaughter whom he raised since she was four. Maybe it’s for the best that the planet is on fire.
