Over in the Paramount/Warner Bros. merger, there’s been some good news for David Ellison:
- The merger has been approved in the U.K.
- A lawsuit against the merger brought by subscribers has been dismissed.
- And Ellison has the backing of the chairman of Regal Cinemas, the second-largest theater chain.
But there are also some snags:
- Warner Bros. had a disappointing second quarter, and there’s already the feeling that Paramount is overpaying for the studio.
- There’s panic and anxiety at both studios, and they’re losing talent.
- And there’s some question of how long Ellison can hang on, considering the delay caused by this lawsuit brought by the states will cost him somewhere around $1.2 billion (before legal fees and appeal delays).

- Gilmore Girls is getting a documentary at HBO.

- The All My Children movies Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are producing have found their writers. Let’s do this thing!
- Deep End will be adapted into a film at Netflix.
- Change of Heart, a scripted drama series, has been ordered at Hallmark.

- Cherry Jones, Corey Stoll, Rob Delaney, and Abbey Lee have been added to the cast of The Secret of Secrets on Netflix.
