Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

I’m late to the Golden Globes story, and I have SO MUCH OTHER STUFF to catch up on, so maybe if I can find some time to talk about it later this week, I will. In the meantime, here are the winners. The Pitt! The Studio! Adolescence! Pretty much what everyone expected!

The Emmys are making some small changes, including dropping “television” from the wording of the movie category.

We love an All My Children reunion.

A cute reunion between Michael B. Jordan and Amanda Seyfried at the Palm Springs International Film Awards! #michaelbjordan #amandaseyfried #redcarpet #palmsprings #psiff2026

Why isn’t RuPaul’s Drag Race, which airs on MTV, streaming simultaneously on Paramount+? I had this problem last season when my DVR missed a couple of episodes for whatever stupid reason, and I was unable to catch up on Paramount+ even though there’s no good Goddamn reason it wouldn’t stream there.

Speaking of MTV, David Ellison wants to bring the music back. As a Gen Xer, I’m all for it, but won’t be surprised when it doesn’t happen.

And while we’re on the topic of that nepo baby, David Ellison, he’s still refusing to give up on trying to buy Warner Bros. He’s now suing the company, demanding to see the deal they’ve made with Netflix. Warner Bros.’ position seems to be, “If you want to buy us, put up the money, Skippy.” Honestly, the only people winning here are the lawyers.

As far as I’m concerned, this is reason enough to root for Netflix to win this deal.

Tony Dokoupil is going to interview President Cognitive Exam, in the most predictable move ever.

David Letterman thinks the people in charge of CBS are “idiots” who have driven down the integrity of CBS News, and he’s not wrong.

A thing I did not know until today: Ron Swanson is based on a real person — and she’s a woman.

Chris Noth is not keeping it classy.

Kit Harington was mad at fans who were mad at the bad writing of the final seasons of Game of Thrones. OK, BUT IT WASN’T GOOD, KIT.

The Château de La Messardière, a 19th-century palace-turned-luxury hotel in Saint-Tropez on the Côte d’Azur, is the next location of The White Lotus.

Conan is right, but I don’t have to like it.

Turning Point USA won’t reveal who is performing at their alternative Super Bowl Halftime Show. It’s a secret and I’m sure that’s because they have SUCH HUGE NAMES and not because it’s going to be totally fucking lame.

LOL, the Washington National Opera is leaving The Kennedy Center, but the Kennedy Center is trying to claim they dumped the National Opera first. OK.

John Mulaney canceled his show in Minneapolis following the murder of Renee Good, noting, “I don’t feel comfortable asking thousands of people each night to leave their homes, gather at the venue, and then make their way home when the situation is so unsafe.”

I would greatly appreciate it if folks who don’t live in Texas keep their mouths shut about Texas politics.

I would greatly appreciate it if Dax Shepard would stop being so fucking weird.

Get well soon, Colleen Hoover.

Get better soon, Jill Martin.

#MeToo

Emmy Award-winning actor and director Timothy Busfield has an arrest warrant out for him on charges of child sex abuse. Two boys, now aged 11, who appeared on the Fox series The Cleaning Lady with Busfield, allege that he touched them inappropriately several times, one child claiming the touching began when he was 7. Busfield has not turned himself in, and the U.S. Marshals are now involved in locating the actor. He has surrendered and claims he is innocent of the allegations.

Busfield’s wife, Melissa Gilbert, has deleted her Instagram account after the allegations were made public, having herself just spoken out on child sexual abuse a few weeks earlier. Additionally, NBC is pulling this week’s episode of Law & Order: SVU, in which Busfield guest-starred.

High School Musical 3 actor Matt Prokop has been arrested for possession of child pornography.

Julio Iglesias has been accused of sexual assault by two former employees and is under investigation.

Former Christian music singer Stacie Orrico has accused her manager of sexually abusing her as a minor, and that her label knew about it and did nothing.

NFL player Rashee Rice is being investigated for domestic abuse.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will not be appearing on Jesse Watters’ show anytime soon.

The sexual assault cases against Sebastian Chacon have been dismissed after the three alleged victims failed to appear in court.

Antonio “L.A.” Reid has settled a sexual assault lawsuit from a former music executive.

Writer Paul Haggis has settled the 2022 rape lawsuit against him.

Rose McGowan has opened up about how poorly she was treated on the set of Charmed, including how they would check her weight, “inspecting their product.”

The world is looking to crack down on Twitter after Grok has been used to create deep fake nudes of celebrities and children. Not the United States, of course. But other countries are.

Apparently, President Sex Pest has his limits.

Fox News openly using domestic abuse language to defend the murder of Renee Good:

The Department of Justice has released fewer than 1% of the Epstein Files. This is an outrage.

If you or someone you know has experienced sexual assault, you can call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673), which routes the caller to their nearest sexual assault service provider. You can also search for your local center here
