Lorne Michaels isn’t leaving Saturday Night Live after this season after all: “And so as long as it’s important and I can be useful, I’ll stay.”
As for what we can expect from the election on SNL this season, Lorne is looking forward to five or six episodes that will allow folks to come back:
I think there’s two things happening at the same time at SNL: an election — and I’m tired of everybody telling us it’s the most consequential one in history because there’ve been a lot of big elections — and the 50th anniversary. And I want to celebrate this season with people coming back who’ve been part of the show and who love the show — not so much as hosts but just making appearances, and so the election is a chance for that because that’s five or six shows. So, Maya and some others coming back for the election will be fun for everybody. And, at the same time, there will be new people emerging, a different generation.
Julianna Margulies and George Clooney apparently still refer to each other as Carol and Doug and the 90s me might have just swooned a little.
Dead Boy Detectives and Obliterated were the most-watched canceled series on Netflix.
The cast of Veep will get together on the 29th for a table read of the third season episode, “Crate” to raise money for the Wisconsin Democrats. You can reserve a spot here.

- A series adaptation of Patricia Cornwell’s Kay Scarpetta novels starring Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis has been given a two-season order at Prime Video. Also joining the cast: Ariana DeBose, Bobby Cannavale, Simon Baker, Rosy McEwen, and Jake Cannavale.

- Sold on SLC has been ordered at Bravo.
- Betrayal, a spy series starring Shaun Evans, has been ordered at ITV.
