Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

The WGA and the AMPTP are going to try this negotiating thing again tomorrow. Fingers crossed. But not holding my breath.

We have an official Emmys date: Fox is getting their way, and the prizes will be handed out on January 15. The Golden Globes, for reference, will be on January 7 and the Critics Choice Awards will be on January 14. Let’s hope some movement happens on this strike so it doesn’t end up pushed back even further.

The Television Critics Association handed out their big prizes this weekend and I rarely say this but: no notes.

Disney is jacking up the price of Disney+ to $13.99 a month and Hulu (without ads) to a whopping $17.99 a month, but you can get an ad-free Disney+/Hulu bundle for $9.99 and without ads for $19.99 a month.

Oh, and Disney’s about to crack down on password sharing, too. Obviously.

Well, that didn’t take long. Bye.

IT WAS MICHAEL COHEN WHO TOOK THE PHOTO OF TOM AT THE REGENCY AHEAD OF HIS WEDDING TO THE COUNTESS. (If none of those words mean anything to you, I apologize but IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW.)

Here’s an interview with the “Golden Bachelor” and he sounds just as boring and vanilla as the regular Bachelors.

Here are all the VMA nominees. Quite the year for the ladies!

Lol, someone doesn’t want to be sued out of existence:

Congratulations to Wayne Brady who has come out as pansexual. (And I’m sure this has nothing to do with his family’s upcoming reality show because I’m just being cynical.)

Just follow Wayne Brady’s lead and come on out already, Kyle.

Please keep Maui in your thoughts, and here’s an easy way to help.

R.I.P.

William Friedkin, Oscar-winning legendary director of The Exorcist, The French Connection, The Boys in the Band, Cruising, To Live and Die in L.A., Rules of Engagement, and others

Johnny Hardwick, The voice of Dale on King of the Hill

Robbie Robertson, Lead singer guitarist and songwriter for The Band

Martin Scorsese released a statement: “Robbie Robertson was one of my closest friends, a constant in my life and my work. I could always go to him as a confidante. A collaborator. An advisor. I tried to be the same for him. Long before we ever met, his music played a central role in my life — me and millions and millions of other people all over this world. The Band’s music, and Robbie’s own later solo music, seemed to come from the deepest place at the heart of this continent, its traditions and tragedies and joys. It goes without saying that he was a giant, that his effect on the art form was profound and lasting. There’s never enough time with anyone you love. And I loved Robbie.”

Simon Carlyle, Co-creator of BBC sitcom Two Doors Down

Jamie Reid, “Anarchist, artist, and graphic designer who pioneered the cut-and-paste punk design aesthetic”
