It’s Thursday, and I’m going to skip the political crap today and begin with some emergency puppies, because today’s news, it’s a bummer without bringing President Temper Tantrum into it.

We lost more than 3,000 Americans to COVID yesterday — at least 3,053, maybe as many as 3,266, if you believe Worldometers, but probably even more than that. It’s more deaths than the Great San Francisco Earthquake, more than Pearl Harbor, more than 9/11.

Not one Republican leader, up to the President and the Vice President, has acknowledged this terrible milestone. And, in fact, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell chose today to announce that there would be no stimulus bill if he can’t protect meatpacking plants and grocery chains from being sued for killing their employees with their unsafe practices.

Also yesterday, the White House held two (2) Hanukkah parties for more than 200 people. What could go wrong?

This helps explain the deep cleaning plans for the White House that the Biden administration has made.

But an FDA panel is expected to vote today on the Pfizer vaccine. It’s likely to pass, but thanks to President Bungle’s worthless administration, we may not be able to distribute enough vaccines to the entire country until mid-2021.

The head of the CDC, Dr. Redfield, “ordered the destruction of an email written by a top Trump administration health official who was seeking changes in a scientific report on the coronavirus’s risk to children” according to the author of the report. This is very bad!

DON’T WORRY: Rudy Guiliani is receiving the super-special expensive drug regiment that saved President Mongo’s (and Chris Christie’s and Ben Carson’s) life, and he’s being super gross about it:

“If it wasn’t me, I wouldn’t have been put in a hospital frankly,” Mr. Giuliani, the president’s personal lawyer, told WABC radio in New York. “Sometimes when you’re a celebrity, they’re worried if something happens to you they’re going to examine it more carefully, and do everything right.”

Reminder: If you go to the hospital tomorrow, you are not going to have access to this treatment, and had this treatment not been available, at least one of those men listed above would be dead by now. But sure, COVID is “treatable.”

Welp, Ellen DeGeneres tested positive, so they’re shutting down the entire show until January.

Vanity Fair has a good, long piece about how quickly Hollywood is going to be able to recover from all of this. It’s incredibly expensive to be producing right now, but in the long run, it’s more expensive to not be producing anything…

I mean, good for Steve Kornacki that he’s spreading his talents around, but as an MSNBC binge-watcher, I better not lose his rumpled khakis and button-downs to sportsball, dammit.

When the news about Discovery+, the streaming service from the Discovery family of networks, was announced, I made a comment about how A&E would probably be next to stream. What I did not expect was that A&E would partner with their biggest rival and provide content on Discovery+. Interesting times.

AMC has made a deal with Samsung to launch streaming outlets on their TVs.

R.I.P., Box sets. You served us well.
