Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

The Bachelor is NOT DEAD. I repeat, I WILL BE TORTURED SOME MORE. Rob Mills, Disney’s head of reality programming, tells Deadline:The Bachelor is almost a perfect format and it is really powerful. It’s over two decades old, and it’s seen really good days and really bad days. But it’s always had a lot of resilience, especially when the people making it really, really care about it, because that fan base also really cares about it. However The Bachelor comes back next year, it will be done with a lot of thoughtfulness and care. I do think better days are ahead for the franchise.”

Additionally, Bachelor in Paradise season 11 is happening, but not until next summer.

As for whether Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette will ever see the light of day? “I think if there’s something that absolutely says very clearly, one way or the other, that points in that direction, you’ll know,” he said. “But right now, there’s really just nothing to say other than, it is a great season and I hope that, at some point, Bachelor Nation gets to see it.”

On the one hand, the answer is not a flat-out no. On the other, Disney is unlikely to want to wade into that drama again. ON THE OTHER THIRD HAND, I could see a scenario where they quietly release it on Hulu.

LOL, Netflix might be behind some anti-Paramount/Warner Bros. merger campaigns. And New York Mayor Mamdani added his voice to the issue, saying the deal “should be stopped.” It doesn’t matter, though; the Warner Bros. shareholders just accepted Paramount’s offer.

Sean Combs’ lawsuit against NBC and Peacock for their documentary Diddy: Making of a Bad Boy has been thrown out of court.

In other legal news, Lara Loomer’s lawsuit against HBO and Bill Maher has also been thrown out. Tough day for bad actors using our court system as a weapon.

Netflix’s Running Point paid tribute to an unlikely person: a teen fan of the show who was killed in a tragic accident.

To be fair, I would trust Seth Meyers to deliver my baby; he’s done it before.

Because he knows this war with Iran is going to outlast his show, Stephen Colbert has bequeathed his Iran jokes to Jimmy Kimmel.

Turns out the rumors of pilot episodes being dead were highly exaggerated. The once-powerful “pilot season” isn’t coming back anytime soon, but it turns out testing out a series before giving it a straight-to-series order has its benefits. Who knew?

The Kardashians have collected Jacob Elordi.

Love is dead.

Get well soon, Snooki! As for the rest of you: go get your pap smears, and get yourself and your kids the HPV vaccine.

This is something that probably only SNL nerds know, but Mikey Day has a writing partner on the show, head writer Streeter Seidell. (They wrote “David S. Pumpkins,” “Washington’s Dream,” the “Waffle House” sketches, the recurring alien abduction sketches, all of the Boston-based commercials — basically some of my favorite SNL bits from this generation.) They are tasked with picking a couple of pre-taped segments for the ultimate episode of SNL in this Rundown, and they break the rules in all the best ways.
