Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

So back in 2024, Dr. Phil partnered with Trinity Broadcasting to launch a new network, “Merit Street Media,” also known as “Dr. Phil’s Merit TV,” as a means to fight the “cultural ‘woke’ assault” on our country. He brought on such luminaries as Nancy Grace and Chris Harrison, as well as Houston’s own Dominique Sachse and Kris Gutierrez. Sachse left the network less than seven months after joining it, and it turns out, it was the right call. Yesterday, Merit Street Media declared bankruptcy and sued their business partner, Trinity Broadcasting for not distributing the network nationally. My heart breaks for Dr. Grifter whose dumb racist grift didn’t work out because he got into bed with an even bigger “Christian” grifter. Boo hoo, and ha.

Oh hey, emboldened by all the networks scrambling to settle lawsuits with him and hand over their journalistic responsibility and integrity, President Fascist is now threatening to sue CNN for reporting on an app that tracks the locations of ICE officers. It’s called ICEBlock, FYI. Anyway, the administration, which is SO MAD about this app, is about to learn about a little something called the Streisand Effect.

Charlize Theron, who apparently is an executive producer on Mindhunter, says that the movies will only happen if David Fincher wants them to happen. COME ON, DAVID, THE PEOPLE WANT THIS.

Heads up: your Freevee stand-alone app will stop working next month.

So how much of The Gilded Age is historically accurate?

ABC is still insisting that Doctor Odyssey isn’t CANCELLED cancelled, just kinda sorta cancelled.

I’m not a huge fan of Adam Sandler’s comedy — SO SUE ME — but this made me respect him very much as a person. (I will note: I really do like Happy Gilmore, and The Wedding Singer isn’t terrible, but that’s where my list begins and ends.)

The next Game of Thrones spinoff, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, is being pushed back for reshoots.

In honor of Independence Day airing on ABC tonight, enjoy this compilation of people thinking that Independence Day is happening now in real time.

Has a contestant ever left The Price Is Right mid-episode? I hope everything is OK!

Please bring Cordelia back on the Buffy reboot. JUSTICE FOR CORDELIA.

Challenge yourself on this TV show font quiz. I missed two, but in my defense, they were kids’ shows that I’ve had no exposure to.

Get well soon, Connie Francis!
