Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

We are on Day Eight of the TV Foolishness Tournament, so go vote over here. And before we move on to today’s TV news, yesterday’s vote results aren’t showing up for me for some reason — it might just be my computer acting like an asshole — but in case it’s a problem you guys are having too, yesterday’s winners are:

New Fall TV Shows:
Quantum Leap
Classic Shows I Should Have Recapped, but Didn’t:
The Americans
Shows I Began Recapping, and Then Gave Up On, Including Hate Blogs:
La Brea
Reader Suggestions:
Severance

They will face off against today’s winners on Friday, so go vote!

Miguel Sapochnik is leaving House of the Dragon as co-showrunner with Ryan Condal? The hell? The only hint at what is going on comes from the Sea Snake himself, Steve Toussaint, who says he’s “gutted” that Sapochnik is leaving, but says Condal told him it was Sapochnik’s choice. It sounds like it was just an overwhelming about of work:

“And it was full-on with him, because he was constant. Of course, he had to direct and do his own bits, obviously his own episodes. And then, of course, he has to overlook the whole thing, make sure the look is still in line with the whole story. I think they’re still right now cutting the last couple of episodes. So it’s a huge amount. So I understand.”

House of the Dragon already has its own VFX mistake. It’s no Starbucks cup, but …

Thomas and Friends is adding an autistic character, Bruno the Brake Car. He will be voiced by an autistic actor.

Peppa Pig’s friend Penny Polar Bear has two mommies. Cue the outrage from the PTC and One Million Moms.

And speaking of OUTRAGE!

DJ Conner is being sent overseas to go visit his military wife as a means to write Michael Fishman off The Conners. I’m sure this has nothing so much to do with the actor, as much as it is the writers had literally nothing for DJ to do on the show.

The Masked Singer is changing up its format this season.

Wait … might Carol show up in Daryl Dixon’s spinoff after all?

The lawsuit against The Queen’s Gambit and Netflix has been settled out of court.

An official Sopranos convention is taking place in December.

I knew Bryan Cranston and Bob Odenkirk guest starred on Seinfeld but I genuinely didn’t know the rest of these.

DOGGY PARTON.

Snap is no longer making original programming. Yes, that’s right, Snap was making original programming for some reason.

You can now bundle Showtime and Paramount+ at an introductory low price.

Disney is considering creating their own Amazon Prime-like bundling program for those Disneyphiles in your life.

We now know why Michael hates Toby so much on The Office.

The Boys (which you monsters did not choose in the TV Foolishness Tournament — what’s wrong with you?) is tweeting up a storm during season four production:

Stephan Fleet is the VFX supervisor of The Boys — a man who helped build a giant penis for this show — so if he says this …

… You really have to wonder what horrors they have planned for next season.

Meanwhile, Voight International continues to be an entertaining Twitter follow:

Hands down, the best political satire out there.

Apparently, back in the day, the FBI was monitoring The Monkees? Because they made some anti-war comments back in the ’60s? But who didn’t? Anyway, The Monkees drummer Micky Dolenz is now suing the FBI over the whole thing.

So, apparently, someone posing as Kanye tweeted that Friends wasn’t funny. He clarified that he hadn’t tweeted it — but wishes he had:

Get better soon, Justin Bieber.

Goodness, stay safe Barton Fitzpatrick!

My heartfelt sympathies to Megan Hilty and her family. What a heartbreaking tragedy.

Well played, NBC.
