Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the armorer on the set of Rust where cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was shot and killed on set, has sued Seth Kenney, the man who supplied ammunition to the production. Kenney apparently told investigators that dummy rounds might have been mixed in with reloaded live bullets, but then turned around and denied that it happened in an interview with ABC News. Who knows. In any event, live rounds and dummy rounds do have distinguishing characteristics and it is literally the armorer’s job to differentiate between them before they are used. So, it’s an interesting suit, but might be a challenge.
