Ted Lasso has returned! Each episode officially drops on Apple TV on Wednesdays at 2/3 a.m. CST/EST, but it will often show up unofficially on Tuesdays at 8/9 p.m. Here’s what to remember from season three. These are your Lady Greyhounds. Don’t be looking for these characters, though.

The Guardian: For all its irritatingly ersatz qualities, the appeal of Ted Lasso is as clear as ever: the signposted comic beats, the predictable gestures towards kindness and reconciliation, the bright colours, the clean lines. A sense of quality entertainment still hangs about the whole well-oiled endeavour.

Variety: … if the first three seasons of “Ted Lasso” are effectively one (overlong, especially toward the end) sports movie, then Season 4 is its perfectly routine sequel. And in a genre filled with redemptive second chances, “Ted Lasso” could use one of its own.

The Hollywood Reporter: Unimpeachably well-intentioned but frustratingly hollow, the long-delayed new season mostly serves to confirm that the Richmond way may have run its course.

TV Line: As it stands, “Ted Lasso” Season 4 is already a marked improvement over Season 3. And if it continues to recapture even some of the magic of the show’s first two seasons? Well, that’d just be barbecue sauce.

The Paramount/Warner Bros merge trial won’t take place until March, which is much closer to the April trial date that the states wanted than the fall date that Paramount wanted. TOO BAD.

So, over on General Hospital, they brought back a popular character: Ethan, son of Luke Spencer, played by the actor who originated the role, Nathan Dean. Dean had made it clear to the writers that he would only be available for a few months, and though they wanted to have him for two or three years, they agreed to take what they could get. Perfectly predictably, his character was written off this week. Which, fine. So please explain to me why this past week, the character’s final week, Ethan was played by some other actor who not only didn’t resemble Nathan Dean, he didn’t have his Australian accent, either. How did they get the timing of all of this so wrong?

It’s going to be a long while before Late Night with Seth Meyers returns. To tide you over, the show has put together some “A Closer Look” compilations over on YouTube.

The Challenge: Cutthroat: So, there was some controversy in which Paramount took down this trailer from YouTube last week, and the contestants were freaking out that the show wasn’t going to air? But as of this writing on Saturday, the trailer appears to still be up, and I assume it will still premiere today. Season premiere. Paramount+

Big Chicken: A Fast Food Conspiracy: It’s like Super Size Me, except that he only eats fried chicken for a month. Premiere. Netflix

How to Catch a Dirtbag: Social media star “Tizzy Ent” uses the rowd-sourcing powers of the internet to track down racists, misogynists, and other assholes to receive the public shaming they deserve, and now they’ve given him a whole TV show. Good. Series premiere. 9 p.m., Discovery Channel
