Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
We’ve learned more about the ransom notes that were sent following Nancy Guthrie’s abduction, notes that authorities believe were authentic and sent from the actual perpetrators. The first note demanded $4 million in cryptocurrency for her return, but the second note, received sometime after February 5, expressed regret over Mrs. Guthrie’s death, and “said she had died shortly after she was taken and was buried in nature.” It reportedly did not request money for the return of her body.
On February 7th, Savannah Guthrie released a video offering to pay the kidnappers for her return:
“We received your message and we understand,” Savannah Guthrie said, seated alongside her brother, Camron, and sister, Annie. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace.”
“This is very valuable to us, and we will pay,” Savannah Guthrie said in closing, holding her siblings’ hands.
On The Today Show this morning, Savannah Guthrie tearfully responded to this story breaking:
“I love you guys and I love this place,” Guthrie said surrounded by her “Today” co-anchors. “This is unusual and unprecedented to say the least, to be sitting here. I don’t have any comment on this story, and I’m not involved in our coverage, but I can’t pretend I’m not here. And so since I am, I want to just take the opportunity to ask people, to really to beg people to come forward. Somebody knows something, and this is a new story today that is on your radar, but this is the life that my sister lives, that I live, that my brother lives, that our extended families live, that our children live, every day. And we are in agony. We cannot be at peace.”
Fighting back tears, Guthrie continued: “No matter how much I try to come out here every day and smile and find that joy, and I will, I promise I will, this is a moment to tell you that we need your help. We’re begging for your help, and I’m not going to miss that opportunity. And so please if you’re watching, no matter how small, the reward is there. You can tell us, it can be anonymous. Please do the right thing for us, for our family, for our children. We love our mom, and we’ll never stop looking for her, ever.”
Team Will Arnett. That’s an inappropriate question and no one should have to answer it, JASON BATEMAN.
Wait, did firing Scott Pelley NOT improve CBS News’ numbers? HUH. WEIRD.
What viewers did want to see: J.D. Vance get pantsed by the ladies of The View.
A thing I learned about Veronica Mars just now: Rob Thomas imagined it originally as being about a teen boy in Austin, Texas. I think he made the correct creative decision.
France is going to try to do their own SNL, but it’s going to be a one-off special instead of a whole series (unless it goes well, methinks).
I hate to break it to you, but reality television is lying to you. I know, it’s shocking. You might need to sit down.

The BBC canceled its documentary series Ashley Cain: Into The Danger Zone after one season following a Guardian story revealing that Cain had described women as “slags,” “sluts,” and “bitches” on X/Twitter, including messages he sent telling one woman to “suck a dick, and fuck off,” and another in which he told a woman, “Go and choke on a cock you slut.”
Tell him, Christina Ricci. Because fuck that guy.

Ghana, explaining that Ghana is known for being a team that seems easy to defeat, but who can actually trip up a strong contender.
