Tick tock, ’60 Minutes’

60 Minutes (CBS)

Not to get too personal here, but we lost our last dog two weeks ago. I’ve not been without a dog for 30 years, and I have to say, it’s not great. I miss all our good boys and girl so much more these days. All that to say, this video hit me RIGHT IN THE FEELS. You got him, buddy. Good job.

Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

(So, funny story: I published today’s listings and suggestions yesterday because apparently I thought yesterday was Thursday, but TODAY is Thursday, and I don’t know, man, I guess the holiday got me all messed up. But anyway, that’s why some of today’s post might look familiar. WHOOPS.)

It’s not just Sharyn Alfonsi who is leaving 60 Minutes under Bari Weiss: Executive Producer Tanya Simon has been let go, along with correspondent Cecilia Vega. Nick Bilton is the new Executive Producer.

On her way out of 60 Minutes, Sharyn Alfonsi had a few things to say:

The wall between editorial independence and corporate interest at CBS is being methodically torn down. Journalists willing to challenge authority are being pushed aside in favor of those who will not. If this continues, the result will be a broadcast that looks like 60 Minutes but lacks the courage and character to produce journalism that matters. To my colleagues, who became family – working beside you has been the privilege of a lifetime. You are second to none. I’ve learned exactly what it costs to hold the line right now. Hold it anyway. Viewers and the people who trust us with their stories deserve nothing less.

Interestingly, Alfonsi has hired media lawyer Bryan Freeman, best known for representing Justin Baldoni, Megyn Kelly, Chris Cuomo, Chris Harrison, and Tucker Carlson, so legal action might be forthcoming.

YOU TELL ‘EM, SANTIAGO CAMPOS.

Terry Moran is launching his own news site after being fired from ABC News for speaking the truth about Stephen Miller. It’s called RealPatriotism.com, and as a fellow blogger, I wish him all the luck.

Speaking of that vampire Stephen Miller, he tried to attack James Talarico and trans people, so the Democrats fired back, and now Republicans are melting down over it, lol.

More of this, please.

Yeah, people don’t want to watch Comics Unleashed, but good luck with all that.

Oh, I had assumed that Widow’s Bay was a one-and-done, but it sounds like Kate Dippold might have more ideas. PLEASE RENEW THIS ALREADY, APPLE TV, I’M OBSESSED. (Should I recap it? Maybe I’ll recap it …)

You’re not imagining things: the wait between TV seasons has become much longer — more than twice as long as it was ten years ago.

Why are we still talking about the Roast of Kevin Hart and when will we stop?

Morris Day and Young M.C. do not have time for his stupid little concert, thankyouverymuch.

Gayle King is a stronger woman than me because I’d be in jail.

It wasn’t just you, Dr. Jill.

Jack Black is granted the task of choosing the monologue for our perfect episode of SNL, and he picks an icon:

Matthew Perry’s assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, was sentenced to three years in prison for injecting Perry with the ketamine that killed him.

Congratulations to Zac Brown and Kendra Scott, whom I had no idea were even a couple.
