Now that the strike is over, everyone is planning to get back to work just as soon as we get past Thanksgiving. Deadline has a list of shows returning to production soon, if you’re interested. The rule of thumb for TV production is that it takes three months to be written, shot, and edited. Since the writers have mostly been back since last month, if they start filming in early November/early December, we could see some of these shows back by February. But expect your favorite shows’ seasons to be much shorter: series that might typically have 22 episodes are more likely to only have 10-13 episodes.
Thanks to the end of the actors’ strike, The Daytime Emmys finally have a date after a six-month delay: December 15th on CBS.
Coyote vs. Acme, a completed $70 million live-action/animation hybrid film co-written by James Gunn, starring Will Forte, John Cena, and Lana Condor, that was being compared to Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and had tested off the charts, is the latest movie that has been killed by David Zaslav for a tax break. So I guess they’re not done with pulling that bullshit. But seriously: why would anyone want to work with Warner Bros. Discovery moving forward? Why would you trust them?
