Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

We have a date for when SAG-AFTRA will meet with AMPTP: October 2. Let’s get this done.

This is such a welcome sight:

And soap writers are back on the job, thank Erika Kane.

Hasan Minhaj will not be your next host of The Daily Show following that New Yorker profile that revealed he fabricated his stand-up routines in dangerous ways. Comedy Central is reportedly expanding its search for a new host even though Roy Wood Jr. IS LITERALLY RIGHT THERE.

The Daily Show itself will return on October 16 with revolving hosts again. Or, and this would be a lot easier, they could just name Roy Wood Jr. already. Damn.

Naked Attraction, the British dating show with full frontal nudity, is the most popular show on Max right now, which is hardly a surprise. We Americans are terrible prudes: we would never allow such an explicit (but surprisingly unsexy) series on American airwaves; but we are also terribly curious, so of course we’re taking a peek or two. Or a million. (As for the show itself, I don’t know that I recommend it, exactly. I grew bored with the repetitiveness after two episodes. That said, the variety of body types, the matter-of-factness of it all, and the lack of embarrassment is refreshingly different from American television.)

In other Max news: Ballers and Insecure are seeing bumps in views on Max now that they are streaming on Netflix, which is both counterintuitive and makes perfect sense.

Chris Coelen, the creator of Love is Blind, has responded to allegations by cast members that they filmed in “inhumane conditions” with a hearty, “nuh-uh.”

The XFL and the USFL have announced they will merge and still no one will watch.

Here are all the News Emmy winners, you nerd.

Dan Harmon says he’s taking his time with the script to the Community movie out of respect to the cast.

“I don’t want these people, like Emmy-winning Donald Glover, who are bothering to gather out of loyalty to this thing, to come back and once again be getting blue pages run down by an intern that totally contradict what they spent all night memorizing,” Harmon said. “I want to have a veneer of, ‘Here’s your reward.’ I don’t want them to go, like, ‘Oh, he’s learned nothing, he’s treating us like cattle again.’”

You know what? Fair enough. We’ll see if it actually happens, though.

Oh no, get well soon, Bruce Springsteen!
