Here’s Houston’s ABC 13 Travis Herzog trying to report on our record-breaking heat and the impact it’s having on our electrical grid when … right on cue … the power goes out in the studio. Twice. Can someone please check on Ted Cruz’s whereabouts?

Hey, here’s the cast of House of the Dragon talking about what to expect for the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel. It sounds like it’s going to be a racially-diverse indictment of the patriarchy and I AM HERE FOR IT.

Emma D’Arcy, who plays Princess Rhaenyra, explains here how her character is defined by her opposition to gender norms. And here Milly Alcock, who plays young Rhaenyra, compares her character to Arya Stark.

Eve Best, who plays Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, says that House of the Dragon is “about the disillusionment of the patriarchy, of this system that has been going and going for hundreds and hundreds of years.” Yes to all of this.

Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, the guys creating House of the Dragon, have made it known it was important to them to create a Westeros that wasn’t quite as white as the one in Game of Thrones: “It was very important for Miguel and I to create a show that was not another bunch of white people on the screen. We wanted to find a way to put diversity in the show, but we didn’t want to do it in a way that felt like it was an afterthought or, worse, tokenism.” They made it work by making the House of Velaryon Black conquerors who came to Westeros from the west, an idea that came from Martin himself. Good.

John Wilson, of the amazing series How to With John Wilson, was nominated for an Emmy, and plans to bring his camera along with him (or maybe just his phone) to the ceremony to make an episode about the experience. Excellent.

It really sounds like Regé-Jean Page is done with Bridgerton, guys. He’s encouraging the show to recast him, which, let’s be honest, ain’t gonna happen. I can see them continue to write around his character, but there’s no way they are going to recast the hottest character in the series. Either this is some clever negotiating on his part or he’s decided he’s too big for the Netflix series. Stay tuned, I guess.

Production on Jersey Shore 2.0 has been shut down for undisclosed reasons. Hmm …

Another day, another instance of Fox News being the fucking worst.

Oh, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City are definitely going to include Jen Shah pleading guilty next season, don’t you even worry about it.

Netflix’s Tumdum virtual fan event will take place on September 24.

Penn Badgley is a creepy masturbator. LISTEN, I AM JUST REPORTING WHAT THE STORY SAYS.

Robert Iler, the actor who played AJ Soprano on the Sopranos, explained in a podcast that Tony Sirico was his personal protector, and this is one of the most Tony Sirico stories ever:

“When all the molesting stuff gets talked about,” Iler told us, “and people always say to me, did anything happen like that on your set? And I’m like, you think Tony Sirico was standing around, if there were people eyeing me the wrong way, like ‘Oh, Rob looks really cute today,’ Tony Sirico is just gonna stand there and not do anything?”

“Once we did the second or third episode, Tony Sirico just came over to me and said ‘Hey, uh, if anyone ever… bothers you, or anybody says anything, you tell Uncle Tony, okay?’ And that’s how I felt in f*cking school too. Like I was 13 years old and I was like oh, this kid thinks he’s gonna mouth off to me? I’ll have Tony Sirico come down. No matter how old you are, you see somebody that has like black hair here, and silver hair on the sides — and just the way he always had a handkerchief in his pocket — you go like this dude will f*ck you up.”

Tom Brady doesn’t want to be Former President Ding Dong’s friend anymore.

A former Love is Blind contestant is suing Netflix over work conditions. He claims production denied the contestants food and water, paid them under minimum wage, and emotionally manipulated them. So … it’s a reality show.
