So this is a very interesting study about partisan media. According to these researchers who spent seven years studying it, partisan media influences viewers’ political beliefs. Which, duh, obviously. What is interesting is how they influence political beliefs, and it appears that the most effective tool is withholding information from its viewers.

They're right. During Sept 2020, CNN gave viewers extensive information about Trump's failures to protect the US from COVID & the dangers posed by the virus in the days before vaccines.

This had large effects on viewers' knowledge.

Those watching CNN instead of Fox were more likely to know about long COVID & that other countries were controlled the virus better – info scarcely mentioned on Fox.

So, yeah, maybe President Biden has a point about Rupert Murdoch being “the most dangerous man in the world.”

This is a very inside baseball story about the tensions happening between news and opinion programming over at NBC News, MSNBC, NBC News Now, and Peacock. Basically, reporters are being encouraged to break news over on NBC News Now instead of MSNBC, which is becoming more opinion-based, as a way to try to encourage audiences to subscribe to NBC News Now, and I dunno, maybe there are too many platforms at play here.

Over in the U.K., the government is set to privatize Channel 4. They are set to sell it for around $1.3 billion. People are mad.
