Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

Today’s big news is that you should nominate a show for me to recap in the comments the Emmy nominations are out. You can find them all here, but I will hopefully get around to sharing my thoughts about them in a separate post. (Hopefully. Maybe.)

That said, some notable numbers and nominations:

I don’t understand this headline:4% of U.S. Adults Have ‘Never Heard of’ Netflix.” Like, what does that even MEAN “never heard of Netflix”?

Some good news: shooting on the Alien TV series has wrapped. Now we just wait for FX and post-production and maybe it will come out sometime next year.

Andy Cohen appears to be edging closer to doing something drastic with the RHONJ cast.

Oh good, Tom Sandoval is suing Ariana Madix for looking at his phone and copying explicit footage of him with Rachel Leviss because Rachel Leviss is suing him on revenge porn allegations and my God I never want to hear about any of these people ever again.

Jon Stewart and The Daily Show returned last night, the first time since the RNC began and after the assassination attempt. He explained that they scrapped their plans to be at the RNC after they were going to be forced to be inside the “hard perimeter.” He also called it a “terrible fucking week,” adding “We dodged a catastrophe.”

Stewart’s guest was long-time sparring partner, Bill O’Reilly which … look. He was trying to allow “the other side” to speak their piece in the midst of this call for unity, I get it. But platforming a sex pest is never going to be a choice I’m thrilled with.

The poorly-received adaptation of J.D. Vance’s Hillbilly Elegy has been rising up the charts on Netflix. Gross.

Savannah Chrisley whined spoke at the RNC yesterday, accusing Fulton County’s “rogue prosecutors” of unfairly persecuting her parents after they were tried and found guilty of “bank and wire fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy” by a jury of their peers. HEY, GUESS WHAT, FELLOW WHITE FOLKS: IF YOU COMMIT CRIMES, YOU MIGHT BE TREATED LIKE A CRIMINAL. DON’T DO CRIME.

Folks at MSNBC are not happy with the top brass for pulling Morning Joe on Monday morning, accusing them of trying to curry favor with a future Former President Insurrectionist administration.

Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed would like a new trial, please.

WAIT. HOLD UP. WHAT? Fred Armisen and Riki Lindhome have been married for two years and HAVE A BABY TOGETHER and this is the first we’re hearing about it? Well, congratulations, kids, that’s amazing! Maybe love isn’t dead after all!
